Interesting writeup, but I wonder if some of Martha and Mary's credits were exaggerated.

Wilson continued her musical legacy with a solo career that involved performing in multiple Broadway shows, creating two studio albums and writing two best-selling memoirs.

I saw Mary off Broadway, but the closest she got to a Broadway stage is when she got on stage between Diana and Berry at the opening of MOTOWN THE MUSICAL.

It says she created two studio albums. Were they both released? I know she had a single that was released and the company went out of business the next day. Was the album released too?

Reeves continued a successful solo career that included multiple albums as well as writing a best-selling autobiography. Reeves also established a successful acting career that included numerous Broadway performances and appearances in movies and television shows.

I am not familiar with Martha's successful acting career or appearances in Broadway shows. What movies was she in? Miss Roberta, you should know.

Both these ladies have had nice careers. Their accomplishments do not have to be exaggerated [[if, indeed, they were). But I guess then the publicists would not be doing their jobs.

Is this the same show that they were doing with Chubby Checker last year?

Re Martha, I don't recall any Broadway performances. But she did tour in a production of the Broadway musical AIN'T MISBEHAVIN'. Re films, she appeared briefly in the X-rated FAIRY TALES singing "You'll Feel The Magic in Me," and as herself STANDING IN THE SHADOWS OF MOTOWN.

It seems as if Mary and Martha are doing many shows together, sometimes with Chubby. I saw them last year and it was great. I hope I get to see them again.

Martha Reeves was in the movie as an aunt in Fairy Tales back in 1979 or 1980 and her musics been in many movies including Wild Night in Thelma and Louise and Heatwave in Frequency.

Thanks for the info. I did not know that Martha did any tours of Broadway shows. I could not remember if the WALK THE LINE album was actually released after the label closed.

I just checked and see that used copies are available on line.

Yeah! I guess many artists pad their promo sheets just as we pad our resumes.

Puffery is common in showbiz resumes; in Wilson's case it is a necessity. 'Lip-synced background vocals performed by other singers; never had a hit' would be an accurate but not encouraging career resume.
