70s Supremes Do the 60s Supremes

    A thought from another thread:

Of the 12 #1 hits the Supremes had in the 60's, do we know which were ever performed by the 70's Supremes?

I'd guess "Back/Arms" was never performed.

"Someday" was performed as a duet with Smoke on his TV show, but was it ever done live? Perhaps in the very 1st shows when it was still fresh off the charts? But maybe not?

All of the #1's were performed at one time or another by the 70s group. Though "Back In My Arms Again" was only the line "got him back in my arms again, right by my side." Early shows had "Someday" performed all the way through. Other 60s hits performed individually [[not in a medley) with Jean were "You Keep Me Hangin' On," "The Happening," and "I'm Gonna Make You Love Me."

I had thought about this before let’s see if I can get this correct:
WDOLG: was part of the medley Mary sang the lead then Cindy sang it then Susaye
Baby Love: part of the medley Jean sang lead then Mary sang it
Come See About Me: part of the medley I’ve only heard Jean sing this
Stop in the Name of Love: part of the medley Jean sang lead then Mary sang it
Back in my Arms again: only the hook was sung
I Hear A Symphony : This one I not sure
YCHL: haven’t heard this one either
YKMHO: Jean sang this one then Scherrie sang it
Love is Here: another Jean lead
The Happening: haven’t heard this one
Love Child: Jean sang lead then Scherrie
SDWBT: Jean sang lead then Mary sang it

now I didn’t include the non #1’s and I kept it to when the group was current

I realize this isn't a #1 but Nothing But Heartaches was used [[along with YKMHO and Love is like an Itching in my heart) in the infamous medley with MSS at Caesar's where they wore the uni-dress.

the medley starts with a [[poor) Ed Sullivan imitation intro then:
Baby Love [[although Susaye is singing Where Did our Love Go while M and Scherrie are singing BL backgrounds)
Back in my arms again and Nothing But Heartaches combined - Mary sings lead "how can scherrie tell me what to do when she lost her boy so true. and Su, she don't know. cuz the boy she loves is a romeo"
Love is an itching - Susaye on lead
You keep me hanging on - scherrie lead

The setlist from the Venetian Room [[Texas) on 19 February 1970 [[Jean's first live performance with the group?) has:

01 You Keep Me Hanging On
    02 unknown
    03 Reflections
    04 The Happening
    05 Baby Love
    06 I Hear A Symphony
    07 Come See About Me
08 Stop! In The Name of Love
    09 Love Child
10 For Once In My Life
11 Deep in the Heart of Texas
    12 MacArthur Park

There's a chance some of these songs were done in a medley rather than individually.

    It's not my list - it's from setlist.fm.

I did wonder if the 'unknown' song in the list was Ladder as it was released two days before this show but just pasted the list as is.
