His name is Joseph "Joey" Gian, who also competed as a vocalist on "Star Search" around the same time.

Revisited this track just now and enjoyed it rather more than I remembered enjoying it last time

The song has aged pretty well, but we didn't expect that from Diana Ross. It was not very innovative or even ambitious.
On the other hand, the clip is very beautiful and the resemblance between Diana and a panther was in response to a widespread fantasy among her fans [[At least in France, where she was very associated with the world of fashion, opulence and style).

By the way, What is this song about? Is there a sexual or sadomasochistic sub-text here

"For you my skin is shed
    Ecstacy ain't what you find
    In the modern world
One flick of my tongue changes
    The meaning of the world

    With a little stimulation
It'll come once more, and you say
    That's impossible
It's not impossible to do, oh
And you digest what I can see
The taste of you can be

Tie me to a tree, crawl all over me
You can rip my shirt, drag me in the dirt
I will be your slave, anything you say"

I think this is the first time that I actually read the lyrics. I honestly could never sing along with that record because I didn't know all of what she was singing.

Very camp and quite easy on the eye.

I can sing along with it; I just have a different set of words.

On “Knots Landing,” which was on CBS for 14 seasons, Gian played Tom Ryan, a detective who was in an on-again, off-again romance with the character played by Nicollette Sheridan. Gian joined the show in 1989.

I loved Knots Landing but i do not recall this particular character.I remember Nicolette well though. She played Page, the daughter of Mac towards the end of its run.

as best as i can tell, it's just sort of all about "animalistic passion" and lots of various ways to sort of be sexy and "hot" using jungle themes.

obviously the wisdom of writing such a song can be debated lol

    ^lololol

this song is very jackson. many of michael's and janet's songs are a zillion words that are barely identifiable or distinguishable and are garbled together lol. That has obviously worked well for them but that doesn't mean it works well for others

I always thought the song was about how the press and paparazzi or a person's lies, bitterness or hatred can try and tear you down or destroy you. I felt it was very creative in the way the words came at you like a freight train. I was watching it the other day but could not remember who the guy in the video was.
