I think circa 1972 / 1973.

There's a photo of her with in the recording studio with Marvin Gaye and Ashford & Simpson and her hair looked similar. She also had this look in a photo in Weldon McDougal's book on Motown.

Well..... not her best look but not her worse. My personal opinion is she never could pull off a natural. The closest was on the Hollywood palace on March 1969.

I assumed it was longer than this.

There are pics of her in the studio with Marvin recording the D&R album and her hair was exactly that length. I'll post them later when I find it in my flash drive. I think it was indeed 1972 when that photo was taken.

I think it was longer but how long is anyone's guess... I imagine her real hair is big but not HUGE.

Love it. The lady was gorgeous, big hair or short. I think the only look she sported that really didn't flatter her was the 1964-early 65 look, such as when she was on TAMI and the first Sullivan appearance and Where the Action Is. Although I do think she was beautiful on Sounds of Motown for some reason.
