Rudy Lewis with the Clara Ward Singers

It’s been stated that Rudy Lewis was one of the mega few males who were members of the Clara Ward Singers, prior to replacing Ben E. King in the Drifters! Did he appear on any recordings with them or was it only for concerts? He had a fine baritone voice that’s criminally underrated!

I thought it was open knowledge among us R&B/Soul aficionados that Rudy Lewis was in the Clara Ward Singers. But then again this was just before the true golden age of Soul began. Which sadly was around the time of Lewis’s untimely passing.
