I will start with YOUR LOVE.

If We Hold On Together - this always gets me!

And here is an alternative with a spoken introduction - this gets me even worse!

Yes. Beautiful song made even more meaningful when put in context. [[I never saw the film but any context of personal bonding will suffice). I never heard the alternate version. It is even more moving. Is it available for download or purchase?

    First part of
LOVE HANGOVER .The song wouldn't have had nearly the oomph without this softer beginning leading up to the sudden energy surge.

I found the alternate version on Youtube but have never seen it available for download/purchase. I cannot listen to this song without getting a lump in my throat thinking of my deceased parents and watching Land Before Time with my crying daughters when they were little and explaining to them that Littlefoot's Mummy had died. Land Before Time is well worth watching, with plenty of tissues!

I had no idea there was an alternate version of If We Hold On Together! Just listened and it's a fantastic version. Her spoken intro is quite lovely.

Just a few, the first ones that come to mind.

    Mahogany
    summertime
    tell me again
    if we hold on together
    Gone
    What about love
    Missing you
    Only love can conquer all
    Until we meet again

    Are this ballads?
    Love or loneliness
    Love will make it right

There are just too many to mention but here goes with a few
    And if you see him
    I'm still waiting
    Touch me in the morning
    All of my life
    We need you
    Theme from Mahogany
I thought it took a little time
    After you
Never say i don't love you
    To love again
    Come in from the rain
    Too shy to say
    I'm in the world
    All for one
    Love will make it right
    Missing you
It's hard for me to say
    Cross my heart
    Summertime
    Blame it on the sun
When you tell me that you love me
    If we hold on together
    Gone
    Only love can conquer all
    Voice of the heart
    It's my turn
    Stay with me
    Best years of my life
    Your love.

I am sure there are others that i have omitted but this will do for now.

Perhaps this version could be included in an expanded release of The Force Behind The Power.

Oh, man. There are so many to choose, but I have favored Cross My Heart for a decade now. Would like to hear it in concert.

Goodness; what a difficult choice - right now I'll go with the utterly stunning solo version of Endless Love from the LP WDFFIL. And I've always loved Diana's majestic rendition of Reach Out [[I'll Be There).

It would take too long to list every one, but my personal absolute favs that floor me every time, include:

    Now That There's You
    I Love You, Call Me
    Close to You
    A Simple Thing Like Cry
Did You Read the Morning Paper
    All the Befores
    Include Me In Your Life
    Touch Me In the Morning
    Brown Baby
I'll Be Here When You Get Home
    After You
I Thought It Took a Little Time
    Confide In Me
    Come In From the Rain
    Too Shy to Say
    Only Love Can Conquer All
    Voice of the Heart

That's still more than I wanted to list and yet there's many more I didn't.

Pushing the boundary a bit here, how about I've Come To Love You So Much with Marvin Gaye? It's a shame that this song was not fully completed but Diana gives a great performance on a fabulous song.

I don't think you're pushing boundaries here. I included a Diana and Marvin cut on my list. "I've Come to Love You" is a great choice.

Love that song and Diana's vocal. I would have included it on the album over I'm Falling In Love With You or Don't Knock My Love. Your comment makes me wonder how a completed track would have sounded.

It sounds to me like there is "too much of Diana" on the released version with only some sections by Marvin with a poor quality sound to his vocals. I suspect that he should have gone back into the studio to record a "proper take" so that the producers could have come up with a greater "duet balance" of their vocals.

Such a shame as this track, for me, would have been a highlight of the album and an ideal candidate for an A-side single release.
