I haven't seen any news article on it, but someone posted in on my Doo Wop Forum, and I saw it already posted on Wikipedia. Can anyone confirm this?

I am embarrassed to admit that when I read the title of this thread, my first reaction was "Who is Eugene Pitt?". After reading the posts, I realized that he was the amazing voice of the JIVE FIVE.

I have the original 45 of MY TRUE STORY that I bought when it first came out and I am sure that I played it til the grooves wore out.

I loved the song and loved Eugene's voice [[although I did not know his name)

After searching Google and You Tube, I was happy to see that he conitinued performing and maintained that amazing voice right to the end.

I didn't know who this was also but the song is easily one of my favorites and am sad that Mr. Pitt has left us. Any original members in the background singers?

So sorry to hear about Eugene Pitt of The Jive Five. "My True Story" & "What Time Is It" remain two of my favorite songs from that era. RIP Eugene Pitt.
