Edwin Starr - " I'll always love you"

Probably one for Keith to answer.
Over the years I have had bootleg tapes of unreleased Motown and thanks to UMG and Ace /Kent, most of this material has been issued.
However, I am sure I have heard a cover version of the Spinners "I'll always love you", about 1968 I'd guess.
If it does exist, has it ever been considered for a previous compilation?

I wished I could help. I didn't even know Edwin had recorded that song.

I think an Edwin version would sound great. There were cover versions issued around that time in the UK. Here's one by Timebox....

Timebox did a very nice version of The Four Seasons "Beggin'".

    Just looked at YouTube.
    "Beggin'" is a nice cover.
Also found their cover of "Don't make me wait too long" Bunny Sigler.
I wonder if that was the track I was thinking of....probably heard that version first.

Here's a nice link to a well illustrated Timebox singles discography - I'm sure it will be of interest to Graham Betts [[or Hotspurman) if he still visits this board. Mind you - none of it is Edwin Starr. Sorry about that.

I'm anticipating that Edwin's version will be good too.
