Well considdering he passed in 1998 I doubt hed be able to do this and think bringing any charges against him would be impossible.

Appears to me to be just the usual rather lame TV gags, maybe a little sexist but that was more or less the norm then. Even from today's perspective, it doesn't seem terribly offensive, just not very funny and totally devoid of wit. Of course, knowing that Mary and Flip had a history, it's sort of entertaining in that regard.
