Titles Not Appearing for CDs on Car’s Display

I have noticed when I nsert some of the Expanded Edition CDs into my vehicle’s CD player, the titles via Gracenotes do not appear on the display. Examples: Where Did Our Love Go and Supremes A Go Go Editions. The titles do show up in my iTunes but apparently they haven’t been encoded ‘cd text’ as I have to do with my own original cd projects. Have other folk come across with the same situations? I realize I can go through iTunes and burn another cd with the ‘cd text’ option, however, “Ain’t nobody got time for that!”

Jobucats, that is left up to the person who authors the CD. Almost no domestic [[U.S.) CD mastering even bothers with this. some U.K. imports have it.

I do not know what model of vehicle you drive, but they typically do not recognize CD tracks, in my experience. My car uses Gracenote, but not for CDs. In fact, I want to disable Gracenote because it tends to replace the artwork on my music files that I load up on a USB, which is how I play music in my car. I rarely ever play CDs in in.

Thanks for responding. The titles on most of my cds show in my car which uses Gracenotes. Some of Motown’s Expanded Editions show titles, some do not. Although I sometimes use USB devices, I find loading my CDs onto the hard drive in my car is easier to navigate.
