You are correct, captainjames. I doubt this man in the video is actually a doctor. He is an autograph hound, hence the inclusion of 'topsignatures.com' in his video title. He goes to signings in order to resell them on eBay, which is why he did not want Mary to inscribe his name. I found one of the autographs already listed on his eBay account. I'm sure Mary would not be pleased. Thankfully, I'm sure most fans already know that she is generous with providing her autograph, so hopefully no one will foolishly purchase any of the items that she signed for him.

His inference of being a 'doctor' usually connotes MD. When a physical therapist
graduates these days, it's usually a doctorate IN physical therapy...NOT MD.

Honey, I don't know about all that...but selling Mary's autographs is unethical. He's a scammer, as far as I'm concerned.

Yes, honey....that is unethical. I wasn't addressing that, though....just him throwing out the fact [[or fiction) he's a 'doctor'.

Yeah, the fact that he didn't want a personalized inscription would be a giveaway that he probably is just amassing autographs to sell. I imagine Mary knew this but was gracious about it.

Back in 1966 a friend and I managed to get Diane and Flo to sign [[of all things) a couple of paper bags for us. Mary was unavailable. Twenty-three years later when we first caught Mary's club act he brought his with him [[mine was lost over the years; long story), along with a ballpoint pen with ink to match the other signatures, but she insisted on using a felt-tipped one which she had with her, and signed her name much smaller than Diane's and Flo's, almost certainly so it would not match the others and possibly be passed off as having been signed at the same time. It didn't matter to him one way or the other, really, because he wasn't going to try to sell it, but it was kind of disappointing that it didn't work so well, visually.
