What a great find BG! I've seen photos of Flo at the parade but it never occurred to me that there might be footage. For as long as I can remember the parade is broadcast on television but I figured Flo's parade was before the parade was televised. [[I recognize that this is a movie camera footage.) Bud Billiken Parade used to be a lot of fun. Great memories.

Not strange at all considering Florence was a big star, especially in the African American community. What's strange is when people attempt to portray her as nothing more than a background singer, especially to the millions of African Americans who saw the Supremes as much more than simply a group of young singers or Diana Ross' springboard. Florence received a lot of press and attention following her exit from the group. It's unfortunate that she wasn't savvy enough to parlay that into success.

She and Godfrey Cambridge were Grand Marshalls of the parade if I'm not mistaken. Diana Ross and/or the Supremes have also participated in the parade, as well as Martha and the Vandellas.
