The Staple Singers were one of the absolute best groups in Gospel and Soul there ever was. So many great songs and performances attached so many great memories. Rest in peace Ms. Yvonne and thank you very much.

Interesting that the three sisters sang together [[& with Pop!) but yielded to Mavis to consistently [[always?) be the lead. Maybe as with the Supremes , there was a realization that there was a successful formula in having a consistent identifiable voice lead your sound .
