Frankie Lymon was a great singer, but I would hardly consider him an angel! LOL!

The article states that Frankie Lymon and the Teenagers were a major influence on the male groups that came afterwards when it is the complete opposite. Frankie's voice had the biggest impact on girl groups. Most of them have said that once they heard Frankie Lymon, they wanted to become singers. Arlene Smith/Chantels, Ronnie Bennett/the Ronettes, Darlene Love, Mary Wilson and Diane Ross /the Supremes have all said this.

You're right, Marv. It was his influence on female singers that really had impact. I assume Frankie knew about it. I sure hope so. He certainly could sing and perform as few did back then. And it was all too brief. And, ultimately, very sad.

Oh he knew it. He had plenty of women, but he was also a rough kid from Harlem and the Bronx. He was mature far beyond his years. He was blessed with a huge talent, but lived very fast.

Yep! More than a decade ahead of Michael Jackson, Donny Osmond etc.
