    Denise's Gold Record Missing

Today I received a Google Alert that comes from the Jackson [[TN) Sun, the local newspaper that faithfully followed the career of the late Denise LaSalle. This story is reporting on the fact that her gold record for "Trapped By a Thing Called Love" is missing from her home.

I hesitate to use the word "stolen" and I think the newspaper may have been equally careful, so hopefully the story will have a happy ending and it will turn out that a family member has it in a secure place. For those of you who might not have known, when Denise passed away in January, her husband James Wolfe was in the hospital himself and had to be given special permission to leave to attend her services. Sometime during that time is when the record disappeared from its place on the wall.

I guess you can make a comparison to the stolen [[and yes that is the right word in that case) Frances McDorman Oscar, but that guy sounded like a crackpot. So I am hoping this case can be solved equally quickly with no damage to the artifact. Besides, what good were her gold record do anyone outside the family?

Many fans might want a keepsake. I remember Natalie Cole writing about how some of her less than stellar friends stole a bunch of her father's gold records from her home.
