    Valerie Simpson on Broadway

Seems as though Valerie Simpson will be doing a stint in the Broadway production of Chicago as Matron "Mama" Morton. If anyone checks it out, please report back.

I never had any interest in seeing CHICAGO but I might check it out to see my girl Valerie, and to also see Chaz who was wonderful in the Color Purple.

    Thanks for sharing!

That sounds like a great show for Valerie.

I think so too, Roberta. She has a full out number, a great duet showing some humor and a few scenes. She doesn't have to carry the show, she can just have some fun with it. I might actually go back to see her in it, though I am a bit overdosed on Chicago.

It is always interesting to see what stars they get for CHICAGO. I saw John Schneider in a while back and thought it was great. Hope to see Valerie as well.

Several years ago I saw Patti Labelle in the L.A. production. Patti didn't remember a single line, it was embarrassing. But she brought the house down with "When You're Good To Mama."
