Oh my, I have never heard about this before but it sounds fascinating! How do you know about this, jack? Do you know when it was?

Smokey and Willie were working together around 1973 for Smokey's debut album Smokey, I know that much.

Jack, never heard of that one but there have been many planned, proposed projects by Motown that never came to be.

This is part of the source article for this footnote in the book. From Variety, Nov. 28, 1973. Three musicals are mentioned: "Cotillion," "Nobody" [[about Bert Williams), and "Mildred." None of these seemed to get going, but as Marv mentioned it wasn't odd for things to be proposed [[and even promoted) and never completed.
