Soulpassion, thanks so much for posting these clips. They serve to remind us what timeless classics the combination of Warwick/Bacharach/David created.

This week in my rotation, I had the pleasure of listening to the Just Being Myself and Dionne albums from the early 70s. I am one of the few Dionne fans on the planet who think she improved as she progressed along, and therefore I liked everything in the 70s and early 80s more than the Scepter years. This Dionne album especially was a great piece of work that deserved to do better than it did. Some touching socially-conscious lyrics, and some incredible piano from Burt, not to mention Lady D herself was in fine form. I Just Have to Breathe is a sensational song.

I agree with you David. Her voice improved with each passing year in the late 60's and 70's. I treasure her Warners albums, especially Track of the cat, Then came you and Love at first sight. Her albums were more more consistent and had few cover versions on them. I also love her arista period where she was vocally astounding. I am still awaiting some of the other promised arista expanded editions. I don't know why they suddenly stopped. We were promised 3 more in addition to the ones that came out a few years ago.
