How about "Now That We've Found Love" by Third World? I know it's not Motown, but I think it's a great upbeat tune.

And then there's of course Shalamar's "Night To Remember" the stereotypical wedding night song!

DOWN THE AISLE and MY BRIDAL GOWN by Patti LaBelle and the Bluebelles. These aren't uptempo, but they are positive.

There are some great titles that have been suggested. As a person who has worked with families regarding music for weddings and wedding receptions, I might caution you that since this is your daughter, you consider if the songs suggested are about love or just having good sex. Some may argue that it's not going to make any difference "because no one will be listening to the words anyway," however, you and your daughter will want to have music that reflects what matrimony means to the couple and the couple's family and be representative as such.

I know the above seems preachy. This is, however, a serious occasion and although it should be fun and festive, the music for the reception should reflect good taste.

    Congratulations!

Probably just about anything by Marvin & Tammi... the delightful "Two Can Have A Party"... and of course "Ain't No Mountain High Enough"...!

Alicia Myers, "I Want To Thank You"

Three Degrees, "I Do Take You"

    Willie Hutch, "Love Power"

Carrie Lucas, "Is It A Dream"

Jimmy Soul, "If You Wanna Be Happy" - Now, Now, before you say "HEY!", the song's never supposed to be taken seriously anyways, once the silliness sinks in, then all dance in pure carefree FUN!

The Originals' "The Bells" seems appropriate for a wedding but I'm not sure about the lyrics...!

For the first dance with their bride and her father that choice is easy: Diana Ross singing TURN AROUND.
