    Oscar Toney Jr

    Hi!

I called Oscar about two months ago, and you can read about it at

    http://www.soulexpress.net/deep3_2017.htm

Tomorrow, on Friday, Oscar turns 78.

There are also reviews of recent retrospect and southern soul indie CDs.

    Best regards

Have you called "anyone else" recently?

    Hi David!

Sorry I haven't, because I know that one reporter is writing a book on Denise and has met her many times in Tennessee recently, so hopefully by the end of this year/early next year you'll get all the answers :-).

    Best regards
    Heikki

Oscar's top track for me is the cover of Chuck Brooks 1970 Volt records "Loves gonna tear your playhouse down". Came out on Blues and Soul's/ John Abbey's Contempo label 1973 ish.

Top track from Oscar Tony Jr was the cover of Chuck Brooks 1970 Volt records, "Loves gonna tear your playhouse down". In '73 Blues and Soul mag/ John Abbey's Contempo Records released it in the UK. Can't find it on youtube so can't give a link.
