I have an interesting Tamla 45 in my collection, Tamla 54294.
The song is Passion Flower b/w Kiss Me Now. Kenny was found mysteriously dead from a drug overdose while he was married to Gwen Gordy.
A little known fact.

I did not know about this guy, Bill. Very interesting! Apparently he wrote more for Motown than he sung; this was his only Motown single ever released. I like it very much! He was clearly very talented. Sad to hear of his death.
Here's another by Kenny Lupper. You can hear many tracks off his album "Testify" on Youtube. In addition to composing, he was a very talented keyboards / organist and played with Billy Preston.
[[The statement is made that he passed away due to spinal meningitis).

Another alt-fact. Tom DePierro who was an employee at Motown in Los Angeles sent me a copy of this 45. And I quoted exactly what he wrote on the sleeve about the cause of his death. I would believe him before someone else as he was there and in the know.
Scroll down for more on Kenny..

Thanks a lot. The souldennis.blogspot told a lot more information that most of us probably knew nothing about. He had quite a varied career in the music industry other than just one single record with High Inergy.
I tried to see the information on the promotional Motown album, but could not locate anything. Can you please show the reverse side of it with the contents and the catalog number? Thanks.
Lupper was featured prominently on Ree's masterpiece, Amazing Grace.
