Well that is great news to hear, although I don't think the announcement is official yet, but probably imminent. I have friends who saw it in California and they loved it. I was hoping that it would find its way to the Great White Way. The story of Florence and her label is fascinating.

It was reported in the NY Post by their Broadway critic, to open in Spring.

I worked with Shirley last May and Her voice is amazing. The minute she starts singing you know it The Real Thing. Her voice was so distinctive on all those hits.

Yes. She has such a warm expressive voice, untarnished by the years.

PS Broadhurst wouldn't be reported if it's not a definite-their livelihood depends on it.

Tom-do you think Shirley and Beverly will be getting royalties from this show? Do the Four Seasons from Jersey Boys? I think I read they do.

They should get some kind of compensation since it is their lives that are being portrayed on the stage, but as for song royalties, I think they only wrote their debut hit, I MET HIM ON A SUNDAY. The four Shirelles will get royalties for that. I don't think they wrote any of their other hits. Carol King, Bacharach and David and others will get royalties for the songs that they wrote for the Shirelles.

Shirley wrote Tonight's The Night with Luther Dixon. She gets some money from it but not what She would have gotten if She was a bit wiser when it comes to knowledge about Song writing and the Publishing.

I meant compensation for their story--Id imagine if it's a hit they could do quite well!
