The Velvelettes- In French! [[Hello, boyfromxtown!)

When I heard these, songs by The Velvelettes in French, the first thought I had was WOW! Then I thought how Berry Gordy and Motown could have really had something unique; a Motown group that could have had something of a career of their own in France- recording things expressly for record buyers there. It's certainly nice to daydream about what the possibilities may have been. I also thought it was interesting to have the group perform a Marvelettes hit; another "what could have been" moment.

Sadly it didn't happen! What a shame

One of the problems was that Cal was at school and Mr Gordy gave a promise to her parents that she would only perform at the weekends.

The Velvelettes are just so talented and incredibly underrated!

That was a very good promise, ensuring they had their education to fall back on.
