The original one by Barrett is the best one.

My first choice is the original by Barret Strong. And the version by Mary Wells [[from the Something New - Lost And Found set) is my second favorite version of 'Money [[That's What I Want)'.

I had never heard Junior Walker's version before and having just listened to it... I can say that it's brilliant and vibrant and explosive and BRILLIANT!

However I also love Barrett Strong's original version which is and remains a classic!

I may just about agree with you on this one vgalindo. It is difficult to choose between this and Barrett's masterly original.

Nothing compares to Barrett Strong's original, but I must admit to having a soft spot for Richard Wylie's version [[Motown M-1009).

For yet another unique interpretation! The Hattie Little's bluesy version gives the song a run for its money.

I like that one, too. And also, the Blues version by John Lee Hooker, from 1960, or so.

Classic music seems to take on a life of it's own, you can't necessary remember when you first heard it as it appears to have been around forever & sounds fresh every time you hear it. As is the case with say Muddy Waters "Got My Mojo Working" and of course Barrett's Money. In my opinion It's pointless to compare other version's as being better, just enjoy them for what they are ie. good or even great version of a great song. Here's a cover I like.

The best version of Money is undoubtedly that by Amos Milburn.

The only mystery is why HW left it off the Amos Milburn cd back in the day.
