Thread: Yo... Moe

  1. #7001
As they have been saying in Detroit, Moe.....the Lions are all GRIT. Hard to defeat that. Good luck with your team tomorrow. I would like to see that game.

  2. #7002
Not sure my game is on here in Tennessee [We should move to Pittsburgh in the fall...haha]

Let's see........Jerry your Falcons play the Vikings, & the Dolphins play the Jets.

Ms M....your Boyz don't play until Monday night.

  3. #7003
Holy Moly, great game Dolphins. Pittsburgh too.
    Congrats Jerry Oz and Moe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep, we play those folks with the ugly helmets. LOL

  4. #7004
Oof. Falcons laid an egg but at least the Dolphins bounced back and kicked the Jests where it hurts. And in overtime, no less. I'm still in the midst of the worst three weeks of being a fan that I can recall, but at least Miami didn't live down to expectations.

  5. #7005
Congrats, Moe. Your Steelers pulled it off without much of a problem.

  6. #7006
Thanks Ms M & Ralph! Browns now eliminated from playoff contention........awww

Congrats Jerry! I guess Rodgers isn't the second coming of football..time to retire!

Not a Bungles fan, Ms M, so your Boyz need to kick some butt tomorrow!!

  7. #7007
Jests fans are going nuts today. Love to see it. After a horrible month of my teams losing repeatedly, things got better [for now]. Falcons lost, but the Tar Heel and Buckeye basketball teams won yesterday, along with the Dolphins, Sixers, and Nuggets. Even the Blue Jackets won...

Meanwhile, the Mets made Juan Soto a billionaire [almost]. Hopefully, things will inch upward for my teams.

  8. #7008
    Sorry about your Boyz, Ms:[[

I saw the college playoff brackets. It just figures that Ohio State would be playing Tennessee. Should be some good games. That Georgia/Texas game last Saturday was a good one!!

  9. #7009
Yes, Texas/Georgia was good. And the nightcap games with SMU/Clemson and Penn State/Oregon were good, too. The playoffs should be exciting. A lot of people are moping about Bama and Miami being left out but if you've been beaten three times, it's hard to lay a claim to deserving a seat at the table, IMO.

  10. #7010
And Joe Burrow's house was broken into during his Monday Night Game. What were they expecting to find.....the Batmobile?

  11. #7011
Bill Belichick is now the coach on UNC. Is he past his sell buy date or what?

And [oh brother].....the Steelers haven't won in Philly since 1965? YIKES!!!!

  12. #7012
Looks like Big Bill's given up on his quest to surpass Don Shula's career wins record in the NFL. Rumors are that after Shula said bad things about Deflate-gate [calling Bill a cheater], it was Belichick's life goal to pass him up. Looks like that's not going to be a thing now.

    Smooches, Grandpa.

  13. #7013
I say don't let the NFL door hit you in the azz, Belicheat.......

  14. #7014
Just read about Randy Moss having surgery & [for another reason] & then the surgeons discovering cancer cells in his bile duct. That's terrible!

  15. #7015
Yeah, I hope he has a full recovery. He's got a great testimony already if he wants to share it. But to be healed from this will add much more to it.

  16. #7016
Jerry, sad to say the odds are against him. I think the full recover success rate is maybe around 20%. Usually when this condition is discovered it's already advanced. But there's always those that fool us!

  17. #7017
I hate to hear that. I was concerned after seeing that they removed parts of his pancreas, colon, and other organs because it clearly has spread. Let's hope he's among the 20%.

  18. #7018
Ugh........I just knew the Steelers wouldn't beat the Eagles. And TJ Watt rolled his ankle.

    Congrats, Ms M.....your Boyz win.

No Dolphins win for you, Jerry... but Falcons play tonight.

And Ralph, never thought Lions would lose. But the Bills already beat KC so they might be starting to come alive.

And an ankle injury to Mahomes in the KC/Browns game? And Nick Chubb?

If I'm not mistaken, did the Steelers clinch a playoff spot?

  19. #7019
Moe. Way too many injuries on the Lion's defensive line. However, The Bills did look good yesterday. Don't count the Lions out though.

  20. #7020
I think it's a good idea for me to sit out all sports [and elections] for the next year or two. Can't win for trying.

  21. #7021
    We are all hurting!

  22. #7022
Jerry, the rookie Penix gonna start next game?

  23. #7023
Yes. Cousins has had one of the worst five-game stretches in history. Hope he returns to form eventually, but I also hope the kid can put his best foot forward.

  24. #7024
I hope so, too. New blood [especially if it's good] is always welcome. Hopefully that'll send a not so subtle message to one Aaron Rogers, too.

At this time I have no idea if GP will play Saturday against the Ravens. I've seen pics of him practicing.

  25. #7025
This is the time of year when many players are hurt and others are injured. Hurt players show up on Sunday.

  26. #7026
This is the time of year when many players are hurt and others are injured. Hurt players show up on Sunday but injured ones can't help. If they practice, then they're probably on the field.

  27. #7027
GP has been ruled out of tomorrow's game. What a big mystery!!
And so has Justin Fields. Kyle Allen is our third QB.

  28. #7028
Ooh... Just saw you're playing on Christmas day. That's going to suck for the players to play on Wednesday. But there will be 10 days before the final game and that's a welcome break for a tired and hurt team to recuperate.

  29. #7029
I was at the last Christmas game. Ironically, it was the Steelers/Ravens.......when Antonio Brown extended his arm over to score the winning TD. What a great Christmas present that was!!

  30. #7030
    Ugh.......just Ugh.

  31. #7031
Tough game, Moe. I probably jinxed you because every time I flipped to the game, something bad happened to the Steelers. I was busy trying to stay with the North Carolina [and then, Ohio State] basketball games as well as Texas vs Clemson in the college football playoffs and could only jump into your game for a few minutes at a time.

Today has been one of the most unique days of sport that I can recall. Every league has good matchups going.

  32. #7032
And the Ohio State/Tennessee football playoff game was a blowout. Now, on New Years Day the rematch with Oregon in the Rose Bowl. At least this could be be a good game.

I was also rooting for Houston to beat KC, but to no avail. Now the Steelers play them on Christmas Day. KC is too smug for me. Someone needs to teach them a few things.

  33. #7033
Every college playoff game was a rout. Makes those who called for expansion of the former BCS look bad. The next round should be more exciting, especially OSU vs Oregon, which came down to the last drive a few weeks ago.

  34. #7034
Well, I'm guessing today is the first time all season when the Falcons and Dolphins both won. And yesterday, the Tar Heels' and Buckeyes' basketball teams won against good opponents. Things aren't quite turning around for me [Sixers and Nuggets both laid eggs in the last outings], but at least I get to sleep easier for a night.

  35. #7035
Congrats, Jerry!! Enjoy it while it happens. And Congrats Ralph & Ms M!!!

Won't be watching the Steelers game Wednesday......it's on Netflix & I don't have it.

  36. #7036
I've been bootlegging games on my Fire TV all season. My brother pays ~$100 a month for YouTube TV with Sunday Ticket.

  37. #7037
Did I hear YouTube had an increase? I just had to drop a ton of channels because we just watch them so it wasn't worth it.

I'll pick it up on my Steelers app.

  38. #7038
I heard that the price of YouTube TV increased, but I'm not surprised. Since they have Sunday Ticket, they have football fans in a tight spot if they want to watch out of market games.

  39. #7039
And now we're throwing Netflix for Christmas. I think they signed a $$ deal for this & future Christmas.......am I right?

  40. #7040
You are correct. Between Netflix and Peacock, they're making things difficult for fans of both the NFL and college sports. I'm pretty sure that NBC's new deal with the NBA is also going to allow a bunch of its games to be steered onto Peacock, too.

  41. #7041
Merry Christmas everyone. Hope you're having a great day.

Wow Moe, a lot of missed opportunities. Sorry about that!

  42. #7042
    They're self-destructing, MS M!

But thanks for the good wishes.

  43. #7043
Jerry, ask your brother this: on X today, as well as some sportswriters they've alluded to the fact that "there is a cancer" amongst the Steelers defense. No names named, but those who responded mentioned Cam Sutton, Donte Jackson, Patrick Queen & the one mentioned the most was Minkah....wow! It was also mentioned that just maybe the D Coordinator [Teryl Austin] is the problem. What does he think?

Since I don't give the Steelers any chance of going to the Super Bowl I'll just say that any team that can beat KC is fine with me!!

  44. #7044
The Cincinnati - Denver game was crazy yesterday!!!!!!!!

  45. #7045
I didn't watch it. Dolphins have a late slot today and Tua's not expected to play, so their thin chance to make the playoffs is even slimmer [they're 1=5 without him this season]. Falcons play Jai's Commanders tonight.

  46. #7046
A little early I know, but I'm calling this one. Congrats Jerry Oz.
However, I have a will not happen but curious any way question. Super Bowl, Birds vs Finns, who do you you pull for? LOL

  47. #7047
Sorry Ms M, Congrats Jerry Oz.

The GB- Vikings game was a good one, too.

A big showdown next weekend with Detroit - Vikings.......Ralph, what kind of shape is your team in?

And the Steelers play the Bengals.

  48. #7048
Rough night [so far]. Falcons had the Commanders' number in the first half but have only run about 9 plays in the second half with 6 minutes left. If something miraculous doesn't happen, it looks like it's going to have to happen next year.

  49. #7049
Sorry, Jerry. And yours was another game that went into OT.
It may very well be "wait til next year" for all of us.

  50. #7050
No worries for me Moe. I was expecting the loss. shrugs.
I really wanted the Falcons to win though!!!!!
