Thread: Yo... Moe

Wow, I keep my phone off during church but the first thing I checked when I walked in the house was the Fins and KC game. OUCH, brutal!!!

  2. #6252
Glad I kept looking, first score I ran across said 21-0. Now I need to check the highlights to see what actually happened.

  3. #6253
Way to go Commanders. See Jai, never say never.

  4. #6254
Awww man, thought the Dirty Birds would get the W.

Almost time for my Boyz, I shall return.

  5. #6255
Yippee, touchdown. We've got ourselves a game!!!!

  6. #6256
    Touchdown!

  7. #6257
Poopy day in my household. Thank God the NBA season has started.

  8. #6258
    I'll take the field goal.

Sorry Jerry, based on what I've seen and read both teams put up a good fight....if that helps.

  9. #6259
Nope. Doesn't help at all, but thanks for the sentiment. I was staying home from church until the Chiefs scored on the fumble return to go up 21-0 at half. The missus asked why I was leaving and I confessed that I'd rather feel good at church on Sunday morning than stay home feeling salty over something that I had no control over. You can't show up after halftime if you want to win.

And I was glad I did. Today wound up being a good day.

  10. #6260
You're welcome and I feel ya!!!!

Not as happy as I was earlier but hey, it ain't over yet.

  11. #6261
Holy crap but I knew it would be overturned. But did you guys see that effort by Dak?????!!!!

  12. #6262
Thanks defense now let's do that previous play again the right way offense.

  13. #6263
Damn, that took work but touchdown!
oops....he's out but good try Dak.
Come on defense do your thang.

    What the heck?

  15. #6265
Geeze, but hell of a game!

  16. #6266
Yes it was, Ms M.......but sorry about the loss!

And Jerry, sorry, too......21-0 at the half? And you say that you can't show up at the second half? Well, the Steelers do it in the 4th quarter! And I had a good laugh at LeBron's comment about it.

R&B, congrats on the win. Gives me thrills to see you beat the Patriots

And how bout Viking's QB Josh Dobbs, with only days to orient [after being traded from AZ] comes on to beat the Falcons [sorry Jerry].

Thanks Moe but ironically I'm not upset about it. Of course I would have liked the win but my Boyz played an exciting game....actually both teams did but as much as I like Hurts he's NOT my QB. LOL

    Onward and upward!

    Never too old, 144man!!!!!

I realize it's not the pros, but, any thoughts on Jim Harbaugh's suspension?

  21. #6271
We don't have to just talk about the NFL. But I think the commissioner issued it because the other teams in the B1G know how rotten Harbaugh is and demanded some action be taken. A lot of Michigan fans are complaining that the alleged cheating wasn't that bad, but if it wasn't worth it, they wouldn't have done it. Add to that the fact that after half a decade of mediocrity under Harbaugh, the Wolverines became sudden juggernauts right about the time they chose to start illegally scouting their opponents.

In my opinion, a head coach is responsible for his staff and if that staff indulges in cheating that results in wins, the coach needs to be held accountable for it. Harbaugh's not a sympathetic figure and I think when the NCAA eventually concludes its investigation, Michigan will be stripped of both of its recent B1G championships, most games from the past two seasons will be vacated, and they will receive some of the most harsh sanctions we've seen in the past 20 years.

Hopefully Ralph and Nina don't get mad at me for saying all of that...

  22. #6272
I don't have any skin in this game but based on what I've been reading all the facts are not in. That's not to say he DIDN'T do anything wrong but who else was involved? Who knew what, when, and where? I personally think there is more to this than meets the eye.

  23. #6273
That, & an article this morning on the internet about the record number of fines that the NFL players are incurring. Josh Allen gets a $10k plus for pointing the finger at someone [for example]? Really? JJ Watt says the NFL is "stealing money" from the players.

But Michigan did look pretty good against Penn State yesterday.

  24. #6274
It looked more like Penn State stunk up the joint to me. Michigan played well but Penn State's quarterback played so poorly, they started literally every drive with two straight rushes before trying to pass on third and long. Ugly game.

  25. #6275
I'll tell you who stunk royally yesterday ..... Tennessee, in their game with Missouri.
I knew Missouri was a decent team since I watched them play Georgia. But Tennessee
    was really bad!

  26. #6276
First let me say, my fantasy husband looked good as always. He is so freaking cool too.

That was a tough one but Pickett looked good and being on the field instead of the booth seems to work for Canada.

    CONGRATS MOE!

  27. #6277
Well let's see, Moe is happy, Ralph is happy, I'm ecstatic and Jai is TBD.
Sorry Jerry. Oh well, and you too Jai.

It's that kind of season for Atlanta. Again. But I expect it by now; we should have brought in competition for Ridder and a lot of fans think it's going to cost the coach his job.

For the weekend [if you're keeping score] I stand at Falcons [lost], Tar Heels basketball [won], Buckeyes basketball [lost], Dolphins [bye], Sixers [won], Nuggets [lost]. More ups and downs than the stock market over the course of 48 hours.

I need to find another passion besides sports because my nerves can't handle it.

  29. #6279
In spite of the fact Herbert Davis STILL leaves a bad taste in my mouth, I'm glad the Tar Heels won: cool:

As far as far as finding another passion, there will always be ups and down in whatever you choose so why not stick with the devil you know? LOL

  30. #6280
Thanks, Ms M & congrats to you, Ralph & sorry Jerry & R&B. The Steelers are trying to reincarnate of the old cardiac kids! It’ll be really interesting this next game when they go to Cleveland to play the Browns.

  31. #6281
Cleveland and Pittsburgh are an interesting matchup. Most thought that the division would be a runaway between the Crows and Bungles. It's literally anybody's to grab and we're in the second half of the season. Cleveland and Baltimore had a great game yesterday.

I also enjoyed watching Houston and Cincinnati. C.J. Stroud is already a top-10 quarterback. He's going to be on par with Mahomes and Burrow in a couple of seasons. I'm not a Buckeyes fan, but living in central Ohio makes me want to see their players do well beyond college. He's a humble young man and I wish him all success in life and football [in that order].

LOL. I still think about Hubert's white wife when I see him on the court and in press conferences. Dude shredded his Black card forever at the biggest moment of his life. SMH.

  33. #6283
Haaaaaaaaaaaa...well, they gave away that game as i knew they would, tugboat ron didn't go for two and it cost them, no pass rush on that bum qb...sam howell played his heart out so we're set there..well i'm just waiting for the new guys next season.

LOL, tell me about it. And for those that may not be familiar with Davis, no one cares his wife is White but when responding to the significance of being the first Black Coach, he decided to say he was "proud to have a White Wife"....huh?

It may seem innocuous to some but for many Black folks [including me] it was a dumb thing to state at the moment!!!!

Question, am I the only one who likes the Monday Night Anthem and their version of Phil Colin's version of, In The Air Tonight? Cindy Blackman Santana is killing it on the drums and I'm even feeling Snoop. LOL

  36. #6286
I haven't watched the beginning of any prime time games this season besides the Dolphins vs Iggles a few weeks ago. Didn't even know that was the MNF theme song. I'll pull it up on YouTube later and give you my opinion.

  37. #6287
Not a bad cover although it doesn't really improve the original, which is an all-time classic rocker. I like a lot of Phil Collins songs so it would take a lot to impress me, so there's that. Besides, I still haven't forgiven Chris Stapleton for ripping off Etta James' classic I'd Rather Go Blind when he covered George Jones' classic Tennessee Whiskey a couple of years ago. But I'm either very critical or very petty about such things. All he had to do was to give the composers credit.

  38. #6288
I'm a big Phil Collins fan that goes back to his days with Genesis so I dig drummers, [shout out to Chi Drummer] and Blackman Santana is damn near close to his version. She did amazing things with Lenny Kravitz back in the day too.

Don't know anything about Stapleton though and I tend to phase him out while listening to the music. LOL

This game suddenly got interesting. Hope I can stay awake.

  41. #6291
I'd really love a Bills loss tonight but I don't see it happening to Denver in Buffalo. Denver really has turned things around.

BTW: I'm trying to understand the logic of going for 2 when a field goal would give Buffalo a 10-9 lead. Am I missing something?

  42. #6292
I think being aggressive is the "thing" this season. At least that's the only explanation I have.

  43. #6293
Forget the 2 points, it's the picks that will kill em. LOL

  44. #6294
See what I mean. Being aggressive is the thing. LOL
I'll admit I like the extra effort but sometimes you have to sneak up on the points, especially when things are so close. shrugs

  45. #6295
Ouch, that hurts. [for the Broncos].

  46. #6296
Damn sam, he didn't need to run, he could have walked that one in. Geeze Louise. HAHAH

  47. #6297
Wow. Another missed PAT. Denver has given away 2 points and Buffalo has more than enough time to drive and take the lead. Other than wanting the Bills to lose, I'm glad I don't have a whole lot invested in this or I'd be on pins and needles right now.

Denver's defense has been good all night, but I've watched the NFL long enough to know that they're going to give up a long drive and lose late. It's like a movie that plays several times every season [usually starring Atlanta].

  48. #6298
Well, looks like a different movie than the one I saw before.

  49. #6299
... and I enjoyed the ending. Nothing against Josh Allen and I think he's good but the accolades he receives from the press seem a little over the top to me.

  50. #6300
I'm actually a big fan of his even though I hate the Bills. I do think he's reached his peak though. He's trying to make hero throws when other - better - plays are available. Dan Marino was the same way but Marino had a much better arm and he succeeded more often than Allen does. With that being said, it was also why we got bounced every season in the playoffs.
