John Zacherle RIP - Dinner with Drac

    From www.philly.com

    http://www.philly.com/philly/obituar..._radio_DJ.html

Too bad he didn't hold on until Halloween. He almost made it.

Does anyone remember him? I have his album Monster Mash featuring John Zacherle, Parkway P 7018. Released in 1962. The 12 songs that were in it were as follows:

    Hurry Bury Baby
    Weird Watusi
    Gravy [[with some cyanide)
    The Pistol Stomp
    The Ha-Ha-Ha
I'm the Ghoul from Wolverton Mountain
Let's Twist Again [[Mummy Time Is Here)
    The Bat
    Monster Mash
    Dinner with Drac
    Popeye [[the gravedigger)
    Limb from Limbo Rock

He was an institution. May he RIP.

I sure do. He hosted scary movies in Philly area on tv and I am still scared by the old version with Boris Karloff of the Mummy! He was a great entertainer. Thanks for info Woodward. RIP Zach.

I was just talking about him last week in the Clubhouse. He was 98? Well I guess I should not be surprised as he was middle aged when I was a little kid. Rest in peace Zach you were definitely one of a kind !
