Ruby Wilson-Queen of Beale Street-Died back in August

I don't recall reading this news on here, but I just learned from Goldmine magazine that Ruby died on August 12th of a heart attack in a Memphis hospital at the age of 68. She was a regular on the Beale Street scene for many years.

The article said that she recorded 10 albums in her career, but I can only think of maybe 3 of them. So maybe some others will come out now in tribute to her.

She did a great job on "Change is Gonna Come" on one of her albums, and she recorded a fine album for Malaco with one song I liked entitled "I've Got News for You." That album was recently re-issued if I am not mistaken.

We are losing soooooooo many of our old favorites these days!

Yes, David, Ruby Wilson was a great entertainer.
Around the same time - August the 7th - we lost another Ruby, Ruby Winters.
Yesterday we lost Little Royal; remember Jealous?

    Best regards
