    Hi

Does anyone know who plays the guitar featured on 'Moon River' by Jerry Butler?

    Thanks,

Here's what the tray card notes from this CD have to say about it -

"In mid-1961, song-stylist Butler had quite an artistic challenge when given the Johnny Mercer and Henry Mancini song "Moon River." Producer Carter suggested using a repetitive, twangy, almost country guitar figure to run throughout. The guitar sound had been inspired by the Carter-produced hypnotic hit "Raindrops," as recorded by Dee Clark. Aided by guitarist Earl Backus' cha-cha rhythm, "Moon River" became the early Sixties slow-dance "grind" masterpiece."

Well, the guitar doesn't run through-out, but it's sounds good to me. I could listen to Jerry Butler all day!
