This is the one where Levi asks the Supremes to sing....

Diana sings first then Florence and then Mary.

Later he asks Berry Gordy to sing and BG says I can't sing ..I can't even hum it!! So he asks Diane to help out and Diana sings again

What night that must have been. On the back of the album there's a picture of the Tops, Marvin Gaye, Supremes and the Everly Brothers all on stage partying.

This was a fantastic performance. So exciting and almost identical to the record. Levi so sincere and warm.

I'm not a fan of live albums by any artist - preferring the slickness of a studio recording. However I LOVE the Tops Live album. It is a total joy. Easily the best live Motown album. I'd love to have an expanded, complete edition.

That is exactly what I was thinking when listening to this performance after not hearing it for so many years. The sincere and soulful way Levi put this across. I do not believe all of the ad-libs were scripted. It is one of the greatest live performances I have on record.

If you're interested, it's also downloadable from iTunes; I did last year.
