Comfort dogs are on the way. Lutheran Church Charities, which operates the K-9 Comfort Dogs program, said Sunday that it is deploying 11 golden retrievers from seven states to Orlando to offer comfort to victims, survivors and the surrounding community. The comfort dogs, which gained national attention when they arrived in Newtown, Conn., following the mass shooting at Sandy Hook [[above), have become a staple of recovery efforts in the aftermath of tragedies like the one in Orlando.
