    RIP Clay Cole!!!

I felt this was too important to put in the clubhouse. Its not officially announced but I woke up this morning and Mary Weiss of the Shangri las said it, It was on Artie Waynes blog and a good friend of Clays said he had a heart attack and died, its also on his WIKI so its gotta be true. If you google it you will see several things. One of the best djs and dance shows out of NY.

Clay Cole was one of my favorite personalities when I was growing up. I don't remember him on radio--but I remember vividly his teen dance show. Saw so many great acts on his show! One memory that stands out is seeing the great Joe Cuba Sextet play on the show [[live!!!) "Bang! Bang!" and "El Pito [[I'll Never Go Back To Georgia)."

Too much. i did not hear of his passing. What a pioneer for R&B music on the radio and live performance. Sigh... I wonder if any of his stuff is on DVD.

Is this the same Clay Cole that had a local TV show on Channel 5 in New York, and he would come out dancing?

I don't know why I thought it was Channel 5. I guess because it was an odd number..lol Thank you Charles!
