    Supremes Oklahoma tour 1965

I thought members might find this link interesting. I haven't come across it before. As background, it is 50 years this week that the Supremes toured with the Lovin' Spoonful in Oklahoma, taking in a number of other states as well. To the best of my knowledge, the latter part of 1965 in the Supremes touring career is not that well documented in the usual sources of information. I hope the link works but if not, it is chapter 5 in a google book titled 'Hotter Than a Match Head: My Life on the Run with The Lovin' Spoonful'.

I'm quite surprised to read that the Supremes travelled on the tour bus and encountered the same sort of issues in the Southern states as in the earlier Motortown revue. What do other members think? Perhaps there have been memory issues by the writer or some stretching of the truth.

If anyone has the exact dates of the tour perhaps they could post them on here?

I've also found a couple of other items on line related to the same time frame. A Nov. 2nd 1965 photo of a teenager with his mother waiting for the Supremes to appear on stage at the Latin Casino. And a poster for the Supremes/Lovin' Spoonful appearance in Tulsa on Nov. 12th.
