4Tops and Tempatations Black Bear Casino Duluth MN

I just saw these 2 stellar acts. Each performed for about 90 minutes. The Temptations [[with Otis) still have all the moves and the sound and energy. The only problem was the venue's sound system -- it distorted the sound so that anything spoken was difficult to understand and the music often overpowered the voices. Each group did a great job of demonstrating their harmonies. Lawrence Payton's son is performing with the 4 tops now.
    The crowd was enthusiastic.

Thanks Lorne, funny thing, I have a slightly different take on this show which I saw last night. However the sound system at Ravinia where I saw the concert sucked as well. I will probably post my thread and observations on the main forum.

dlorne; I wish I would have known the Tops and Tempts were there; I'm in the Cities and Black Bear is only about 2 hours away.

Are you going to see them at Mystic in October? I tried to get tickets but there aren't any good seats left.

    Hi Marybrewster:
No, not seeing them in Mystic Lakes. I remember though that we both saw Diana Ross there a number of years ago. That was through the old Motown Boards. I'm seeing DR again in September in Casino Rama in Toronto. I live in Ontario but can drive the the Twin Cities but have to fly to Toronto, because it's so far away.

That is right! That's been a few years; forgive my memory! That was an excellent Diana Ross concert at Mystic; I hope you enjoy her in September.

Let me know the next time you make it to these parts.

    Tops and Temps

I saw this show here in Pittsburgh in March or April.......it was awesome and worth every penny. Both great groups, and the house was on its feet!!!

That's great that they still get the appreciation they deserve. One other thing I noticed was there were almost 2 groups in the audience for both groups. Those that knew and loved the 60's material and the other who loved the 70's material. It was interesting and remarkable that they had two sets of fans there. I guess in the business you do have to make yourself relevant to the particular time period.
