La La Brook's Sang Crystals Hits On LETTERMAN Last Night

In a spectacular production with strings, backgrounds singers and the whole nine yards, David Letterman introduced La La Brooks to his audience last night to sing Da Doo Run Run and Then He Kissed Me.

And here is link to audio interview with La La where she discusses her first solo album, Phil Spector, and the controversy of who was singing lead on some of the Crystals records.

Boy.....they went all out for this one huh? LaLa looks and sounds great as usual. I am very impressed with the music presentations for the Letterman Show of late.

Paul Schafer and his band and the other musicians did a fine job recreating the wall of sound for LaLa's performance. Long overdue for her to get such a showcase on TV.

Band sounded fantastic! Vocally, I thought it was...meh. It sounded like the key was too low for La La and the backup singers are pretty weak. Still pretty good, though! That ending was awesome.

She sounded pretty good, except her phrasing. I HATE it when singers take an uptempo number and sing it behind the beat. It drags it down!

I don't like that either or when the stray way off from the original melody [[aka Scherrie Payne singing "Stoned Love").
