Yes! I liked all his writing and productions and guitar playing from Motown to DaCo/Thelma, to Golden World, to Solid Hitbound, to Groovesville/Groove City, to
    Volt/Stax. He will be missed.

What a great legacy of music he left behind, from the early days with Steve Mancha and J.J. Barnes, on down to the heyday of Stax and his work with Johnnie Taylor and the Dramatics, and beyond...RIP, Mr. Davis, and thank you...

    Best,

    Mark

As I have said other times, we're all of us exposed to these sad news any day and another because our musical heroes and heroines are old people born in the 30's and 40's decades of the XX Century...

But I can't accept it; is so sad that those enormous and irrepetible talents are finally gone! How I have admired THE DRAMATICS and the big contribution to their music by Don Davis. He worked also with the O'Jays, Johnny Taylor... I think my last purchase with Don Davi's heritage was The Dramatic's 1980 album, "Dramatic Way" where his production is at the same time adapted to the "change of decade" and "typically" by him...

A maestro of the same size of Van McCoy, H.B. Barnum, Holland-Dozier, Thom Bell, G & H...

R.I.P. and thanks for the Dramatic's stuff and many more.

    Thanks again, Paladin

It seems like Don Davis worked with The Dramatics until 1994 [[almost!)... I can see also that many of the songs on the Mello Drama album are write by the great Tony Hester! Hmmmm... interesting album!
