Another Chi-Town Trio THE C.O.D.'S - MICHAEL [[THE LOVER)
I didn't know that "Voice Your Choice" was by the Radiants. I liked that song but liked
'Ain't No Big Thing" better. Are any of the Radiant's and C.O.D's still around. I remember Michael [[The Lover). I must have been in 7th or 8th grade and there was this light skinned black guy name Michael who thought he was something. Needless to say, he loved that song [[lol).
And LEONARD CASTON of THE RADIANTS ended up as one half of CASTON AND MAJORS at Motown .... and was involved with EDDIE KENDRICK's mega-hits "Keep On Trucking" and "Boogie Down" .. as reported by allmusic.com ...

"Ain't No Big Thing" was another jam! Voice Your Choice Was My Favorite Though. They also did you been Cheating that was also done by the Impressions.
Found it live apparently from the same show.
These guys had fun performing! I was surprised to find so many performances on YT.
Dang, this has got to be one of the most fabulous threads I've seen on the forum in a longggggg time...I knew the Radiants Voice Your Choice but never saw them perform it
or these other songs until today. Didn't know about Leonard Caston, whose writing in Motown I've always loved, being in The Radiants either. They sure were animated, weren't
they? Made me feel like I was having fun myself sitting here in my pjs...
These clips may be seen on the highly recomended Bear Family box set The !!!! Beat, name of a fantastic TV show.

Father Knows Best - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BM2L-J5kLgc
The early ones like Shy Guy and Father Knows Best remind me a lot of Smokey Robinson's vocals and songwriting.
Here are a couple CDs of Radiants material [[glad I bought them before the price zoomed up!)

Sure wish we had some footage of the Radients doing "Hold On", the version with the strings and ladies - that was our jam in Jersey.
I didnt know films of the Radiants existed this is great! Love Michael the Lover too thanks for these rare clips.
This is why sdf is the best, great post about two great groups.
I was in the 4th grade and the girls would always tease me by singing MICHAEL ,because that was my name and it made me blush,
I still have that 45.
GeeTee used to play the Radiants and COD's on his show on WHPK on the regular.
