    The Radiants "Voice Your Choice"

A Chicago based Curtis Mayfield and the Impressions inspired group. This was the jam locally back in the day!

I didn't know that "Voice Your Choice" was by the Radiants. I liked that song but liked
'Ain't No Big Thing" better. Are any of the Radiant's and C.O.D's still around. I remember Michael [[The Lover). I must have been in 7th or 8th grade and there was this light skinned black guy name Michael who thought he was something. Needless to say, he loved that song [[lol).

And LEONARD CASTON of THE RADIANTS ended up as one half of CASTON AND MAJORS at Motown .... and was involved with EDDIE KENDRICK's mega-hits "Keep On Trucking" and "Boogie Down" .. as reported by allmusic.com ...

According to Wiki C.O.D's lead singer Larry Brownlee was murdered in 1978. I don't recall it ever being reported, not even on the local radio stations.

Dang, this has got to be one of the most fabulous threads I've seen on the forum in a longggggg time...I knew the Radiants Voice Your Choice but never saw them perform it
or these other songs until today. Didn't know about Leonard Caston, whose writing in Motown I've always loved, being in The Radiants either. They sure were animated, weren't
they? Made me feel like I was having fun myself sitting here in my pjs...

    Loved the Shotgun video!

Here's my favorite by them -

    Hold On - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xAfa5Kz7T_Y

    These are great too -

    Heartbreak Society - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ytwyPueLD_w
    Shy Guy - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jIl0Jf0H0DQ
[[Don't It Make You) Feel Kinda Bad - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sgT_w0QveIQ

    Father Knows Best - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BM2L-J5kLgc

The early ones like Shy Guy and Father Knows Best remind me a lot of Smokey Robinson's vocals and songwriting.

Here are a couple CDs of Radiants material [[glad I bought them before the price zoomed up!)

Sure wish we had some footage of the Radients doing "Hold On", the version with the strings and ladies - that was our jam in Jersey.

I was in the 4th grade and the girls would always tease me by singing MICHAEL ,because that was my name and it made me blush,
