One more thing to consider when discussing any 'expanded/deluxe editions' of The Supremes albums is that they were never considered as "album artists". The '60s era in which Motown dominated is usually considered the era when albums [[such as "Supremes A Go-Go") get tagged as "hits & filler" [[regardless to what us Motown fans think). When UMe had set up the Hip-O Select label in the 2000's, it was a great time for reissues of the Motown catalog but I feel that since they've closed the label [[and merged with Capitol-EMI), things have changed. Anyway, we'll see if an expanded edition of "A Go-Go" comes out in the new year.

Those definitely are great chart numbers. Equally as impressive is the number of weeks most of these albums remained on the charts, many at the same time.

There were 25 albums released from Sep 1964 thru June 1970. The group had an album in Billboard's Top 200 every week during that period and in the Top 100 for all but 6 weeks in 1969 - Sep 13 thru Oct 18.

When I see the kinds of sales Diana Ross racked up with and without the Supremes and and a
In a large international career, I sometimes understand why there can be such a fuss

i was kinda young in the 60s but apparently they rocked the 60s with those charts numbers and sales.
I remember the 70s well but there were times when I think Diana didn't get the right PR.

Remember those are just estimated totals for albums. Those don't include singles sales. I heard a recording of a Merv Griffin show from 1972 and he states they had sold up to 60 million. Don't know if that's domestically or internationally and unless Motown releases its sales reports from the 60's and 70's, we won't know. Despite recent claims they only sold 20 million which seems far too low, I would estimate the group sold 80-90, possibly 100 million in international sales.

They had to have sold in those numbers to compete with the Beatles the way they did.

just a point. the 60s and Motown were a single driven decade. albums were usually a second thought. that said, I find it strange how many albums the supremes released . in some cases 5 - 6 albums released in one year at times. originally, some albums didn't do well at first, as it resulted in the supremes competing against themselves, but over years the albums continued to sell
