If, by 'endearing', you're meaning Ed M., I wouldn't have thought the electorate will go for him in a big way....but who knows, they might....

If Winston Churchill was standing for PM, no one would ever vote for him based on his looks.

I agree, but Winston Churchill had 'gravitas', and looked like he could walk the walk [[albeit with a stick!), as well as talk the talk....

If I've got a straight choice between someone who looks bad eating a bacon sarnie and someone who forgets their kid in a pub, I know who I'd rather vote for.

In the past, I've voted Conservative and then Labour [[twice).

Neither of those gentlemen really impress me [[they seem more suited to John Lewis, and I don't mean just the menswear department)....but I do think the voting pattern will be, as it often is, a case of 'better the devil you know', if the opposing candidate does not have a sufficiently powerful manifesto and personality, to make any proposed changes seem more impressive to voters than the party in power and, therefore, less risky.

This time around, I don't think that will happen..but, of course, I may well be wrong.

I think at the coming election in England [[but not Scotland), people will be voting to keep the main party they don't like out rather than getting a party they do like in.

Yes, I would agree with that...but there's nothing positive about those voting tactics, and likely to be nothing positive to follow the election.

Of course all those problems would be solved by making me Supreme Dictator. However I don't fancy the prospect of ending upside down, hanging from a meat hook

Quite. So much easier to sit at a table, cutlery poised, and demand "Where's the beef?"

Don't have closed minds. Braised loin of dictator might not be such a bad meal if prepared by the right chef.

[[I'll avoid the horrible word plays off of 'loin', 'dictator', and 'eating' for sake of decorum.)

That seems to be the least of mankind's motivations in 2015. More like survival of the message.

Maybe, but they're lying to themselves and us. The message, for the messengers, is validation through acting on the word of others. Even if that action is contrary to common sense or the survival of the species. That's the danger of religion. It's cool to believe and honor God but it should be personal. Less cool to think that you can force His word [[in your interpretation of it) upon someone who is not like minded. Usually there is someone, somewhere, pulling strings to make sure he is empowered by the zeal of others.

And then you get the polar opposite who believe that only their needs matter. It's all primeval. Get more power, collect more mates, sire more offspring so that your gene pool can live forever. And guess what? That's the same mindset that some religious leaders have and it's their primary motivation for 'spreading the message' as referenced in the above paragraph.

So it all comes full circle. The message is important ultimately for the survival of self and that need is what allows the strong to survive. Yin, meet Yang.

Him? Of course not. He once took a wad of navel lint from a homeless man in lieu of payment after telling the man asked him if he knew the time. Every week, the homeless man is reminded that the amount he owes grows due to vigorish.

That's where the Scooby Snacks come in play. Shaggy and Scoob take 'supplements' that energize them and allow them to solve crimes. Just goes to show you that Adderall has its effective uses.

I believe I could solve crimes with just one multivitamin tablet, and a cod liver oil capsule.

Not me. I would need all of the make-believe forensic tools that they use on television to figure out where I put my reading glasses in order to read the case files. Forget about solving crimes.

I had a similar problem. My eye was hurting every time I drank a cup of tea, so I went to the doctor. He advised me to remove the spoon before sipping and somehow, the pain stopped.
