    DRATS: Reflections

"If" I were to assemble MY OWN expanded edition of the "Reflections" LP, what other tracks -- previously unreleased that we now have on various compilations -- could be included, i.e., studio tracks that were recorded in the same time period. Any other relevant tracks, e.g., live cabaret performances, TV shows, interviews, etc?

Note: This is not written to start a campaign for REFLECTIONS: EXPANDED EDITION! If I were to start a campaign, it would be for SUPREMES A GO GO [[smile)!!!!

The supremes live at the roostertail in 1967. Two songs of that show were released on the 2000box set. Does anybody else ever heared any other songs of that show?

Heaven must have sent you, All i know about you, am I asking too much. How about the Happening? Would you put that in sing HDH or Reflections?

I'd love a finished Don't let True love Die [[it seems unfinished and the horrid bg has to be some sort of demo or just sounds to change later - I think there's a hot track buried in there.)

Extended or alt vocals on Bah Bah Bah - my fave on the album.

Here is what I have come up with for between 1/67 and 3/68. I am not certain, but maybe the cut off date should be 1/68 when "Bah Bah Bah" and "Forever Came Today"[["Reflections" LP) were recorded. The others in 2/68 and 3/68 [[below) may have been considered for the "Love Child" LP sessions. Also, note that I have included neither the Disney tracks nor "The Happening."

All I Know About You 2/67
It's Going All the Way To True Love 5/67
Heaven Must Have Sent You 10/67
Stay in My Lonely Arms 11/67
Everytime I feel the Spirit 12/67
Treat Me Nice John Henry 12/67
    A Little Breeze 2/68
The Beginning of the End of Love 3/68
    Sweet Thing 3/68
Am I Asking Too Much 3/68

Also, live recording currently available on CD from this period include:
    1. "Reflections" [[Roostertail): An Evening With the Supremes
    2. "Medley: The Lady Is a Tramp /Let's Get Away From It All " [[Copacabana): The Supremes Sing Rogers and Hart - The Complete Sessions
    3. "Somewhere," "Introductions," and "You're Nobody Till Somebody Loves You" [[Copacabana): The Supremes - Box Set 2002

I think that "Everytime I Feel The Spirit" would have been recorded for the In Loving Memory album.

By the way, has there ever been an alternate version of "Reflections" [[the song, not the album) released? Also, are there any differences between the stereo and mono versions? Thanks!

There are a few different versions. There's an alternate version with Florence and Mary singing a line after Diana sings "All in vain" in the bridge of the song that's omitted in the released version. This alternate version also has a full, non-fade ending, which is cut and faded in the released version. This alternate version is included on their "No. 1's" album.

I have always felt that Forever Came Today would have benefited from having a more driving drum/tambourine track as heard on Reflections. Somehow FCT sounded too "thin" and needing the extra oooomph!

i like the version of IN AND OUT OF LOVE from Talk of The Town, also I would have added the Happening and Beginning Of The End Of Love, Let The Music Play.
I did hear an alt version of FOREVER CAME TODAY ,from a japanese hits lp that I thought was better

The Supremes were truly blessed to get "Reflections". It was one of HDH best. I have never like "In and Out Of Love" and how "Stay" got scraped is beyond me .

looks like a lot of the material in 68 was with the Temps. quite a few of the other tracks - What a friend, sweet thing, john henry, etc have at least been released already. of course they could stand remastering and there might be alt versions. given the personnel changes in the group, looks like summer of 67 was pretty void of recording sessions. they seem to start back up in fall with DMC. a lot of the content in spring 68 ended up on Love Child or planned for the cancelled Something lp. i think A Go Go has the most unused tracks and many of those too have been released.

this doesn't include live material but i don't know that much of that would focus on the "reflections" period. i think a Go Go and HDH have more unique content still out there. Reflections doesn't. Love Child does
