"Happy Happy Birthday to the late R & B Queen Ruth Brown!!!" Always firey in life I'm sure she is raising cane in Heaven's Choir !
Ruth & Jimmy, who were friends since the mid 1940's when Jimmy was in Caldonia's Revue and Ruth would come to the Victory Club in Virginia nightly to catch his act. Her favorite songs of his were his then signature song "So Long" and "I'll Close My Eyes" which she requested he sing when ever she attended his shows throughout the years.

    Hi Soul Sister...
Ruth Brown was one of the Favorite and most requested Performers at The Monterey Bay Blues Festival!

I met and had the pleasure of escorting her several times in my capacity as Festival Director.
I have many photos with her and nothing except fond memories!... CLASSY LADY... THE REAL DEAL!

    Hi NoseyGirl!
    How you be?

I think that clip may have been taken when Ruth was doing the "Black & Blue" stage show on Broadway.
