For some reason, recalling Jamiroquai brought this song to mind, absolutely no connection!

I remember Mary Wilson use to sing it in her concerts back in the early 90s. Great song.

A remix of what many in New York consider to be the first Disco record:

Hey marv2, it was from the Chi Lites 1977 album "The Fantastic Chi Lites". I love to hear when balladeers get funky

And "Let The Music Play" was post-disco but it was a disco song in heart and by intent. If I had to list 20 songs that I prefer hearing turned up extremely loud and in a crowd full of people, this has to be one of them.

I agree, Marv. In the same vein, I'd suggest that this Bob Marley classic can also be classified as disco and reggae.

This one I love but has some sad memories for me attached to it. I bought and it seemed that right after that he died. Great record though.

Yep! Fall of 1980. I remember being at Fairlane Mall in Dearborn, MI and some of the dancers from our local show "The Scene" tore this one up right there in the mall! LOL!

Just scrolling through this old post and stumbled across this comment. I know it's from years back but personally my entire life has been surrounded and affected by music. I can hear an old song and it will bring back a memory from my past. Beyonce stated that the first time she saw Michael Jackson in concert as a kid, she knew that being a performer was what she wanted to do. That as we can see was LIFE CHANGING. There are certain songs, artists and albums that have affected me in a way that it's hard to explain in words but it definitely had a very positive affect on my life, thus changing it for the better. Everyone's experience is the different but music can definitely change one's life.

Disco was definitely one of my favorite genre's of music. Some people may debate it but most of the PIR classics were disco.

Glen I know exactly what you mean. I was facing all of these College Prep classes my senior year in high school and just couldn't see how I was going to be able to do it all and play basketball along with all my other school activities and then i heard this new song by George Benson "The Greatest Love of All" and that did it for me!

Germany's Post Disco popularity is why we had a big hit there with Delia Renee, and our Airwave Records got a LOT more sales there than in USA from several of our releases [[Delia Renee, Linda Kendricks and others).

With this song, you can see why The German language is not at all good for singing American-style Rock or, especially Soul music.

Robb the abrupt stop to playing Disco or Dance related music on the top stations in the U.S. was politically driven. The whole "Disco Sucks" movement was started by so called Rock music fans.

Yep, Glencro. “Let’s Get Together” is a nearly-lost gem from '77. I only found it on aJoe Claussell compilation about 10 years ago.

ha ha! Yes, well, that's very sweet that someone gave her something to do.

My Diva has a day job and a house overrun with family. She is also busy preparing to open the 2018 Season of the HOLLYWOOD BOWL. But she sends air-kisses to Detroit.

    LOL! Mostly FACTS!

Patrick Adams is but one of many secret talents only to be discovered within the world of disco . A small time player having fun being innovative in his own studio in NYC on his own label.

And one of the first to monkey with synthesizers:
