The unreleased "Dance a While, Cry a While" could've been a great single. Later on "The Truth's Outside My Door" I'd have liked on 45.
Umm yes, this is definitely one for the DRATS Forum.
This would be a fab thread in the DRATS Forum.

Be sure to check out The Three Degrees...
That is shameful TT, but you're in luck cos their albums (including "Maybe" deluxe) are readily available on CD with bonus tracks in most cases. A great starting point would be their Live! album...
Wow how lucky to get cards off Valerie - I do have a soft spot for her though I've not personally met her. Sheila is also beautiful and glamorous when made up - she's an ordinary girl in jeans an an...
Yeah The Three Degrees were easily as good as The Supremes and I'm glad Sheila Ferguson wasn't a Supreme. The 3Ds had a great sound, more rounded than The Sups which is due to the balance of the...
So, Blinky is freed. Who's next?
I understand that Freda was offered a contract with Motown but her mother wouldn't let her sign. She reckons there are 3 recordings in the vaults - songs written by Berry Gordy.
There are quite a few former Rare Earth label (and other Motown related) titles on Big Pink. The sound quality to my ears seems very good but I'm not 100% sure that they're not bootleg or similar...
Yes I have his album "Night Song" on CD - you can see it here https://www.flickr.com/photos/cookephotography/albums/72157682957305486
For the most part, Motown re-working other folks well known songs doesn't work well for me. I far prefer the original versions especially "You Are Everything" and "Stop, Look, Listen" but as well...
The Marvelettes - "A Need For Love"
Some people have a need to cry
Some need to feel important inside
Some need to feel ten feet tall
But I have words, we evolve
Because I, I've got a need...
Some good info there - thanks. Wonder why there wasn't more from him at Motown.
How strange - but they do look great.
On the Ace Fantastic Four Lost Album CD a few songs were produced by Al Kent.
On The Brighter Side Of A Blue World
It Keeps Raining Down Tears (?)
I've Found My Goal
In A Bad Way

Well there were a number of concept albums by The Supremes, The Temptations and Marvin Gaye (and the Tops to a lesser extent) but we also have the instrumental albums by Earl Van Dyke and Choker...
And one that's been posted before "The Day Will Come Between Sunday and Monday"

"Do You Know The Way To San Jose" 1971

Motown Select is certainly missed although there have been releases since their demise that have recreated their magic - for example the Supremes expanded editions, the Real Gone stuff, early EP sets...
and then Sonny Charles did his version of Horace Faith's "Black Pearl" (sans Reggae though). Obviously prefers it faster lol. Sonny also performed with the Steve Miller Band.
