Very sad news indeed.
Too many to list but a real oddity is a CD I have by Smokey Robinson & The Miracles - "Going To A Go Go".
The insert, front and rear, is for the album "Going To A Go Go" 37463-5269-2

"Shake Sherrie" - The Contours
Any twisty tune by The Twistin' Kings
"Baby Shake" - Eddie Holland
"The Jerk" - Martha & The Vandellas
Hmm I thought this was a quiz about Motown songs? What Motown label were Archie Bell and Van McCoy on for example?
Not unusual though, similar story with Brenda Holloway's "Spellbound" for example.
Has anyone bought this CD which contains Motown related material from 1971 produced by Jerry Ross some of which seems to have only made it previously to acetate?
From DFTMC The Mob tracks are...
Fine but you're posting it in the wrong forum - head for DRATS.
Thanks to Music Magpie the Definitive Collection arrived today for a song (!) and "Without The One Yoy Love" does sound better. Thanks for the recommendation.
Thanks for all your comments - and I'm going to have to get hold of that Definitive Collection.
I know the next Cellarful is already thought out but for a later volume I'd love to see the short...
Yes I do think there is a speed issue with it too.
I do love Paul Williams voice ("Feel Like Giving Up" is fantastic). But - for me - "Just Another Lonely Night" has to be The Fantastic Four's wonderful version.
One Four Tops record I find a bit strange because I'm left with a sense of unfulfillment each time I listen. I want to love it but mainly it's the mix that's usually got too much treble and spoils...
Get em while you can - all proceeds to Kim Weston herself.

Your punishment, Paul Nixon, should you choose to accept, is to conjure up a CFOM Volume 6. After all you are a master magician at pulling vaulted tracks out of the bag.
The Ike & Tina / Phil Spector version does it best for me. How nice if he'd produced some Motown acts (Marvs, Velvs maybe) - but he'd have probably had Motown dancing the screw before long.
Well I've put the order in for my CD but you also get to download the tracks digitally as well as all the artwork - and I've just done that (yet to play any). Limited to 100 copies initially but I...
Smokey may not have liked it but he recorded it at least twice. I much prefer the less hiccupy single version.

A newly unearthed live performance from Kim Weston is to be released in the coming weeks! Produced with Kim’s input, 100% of the money made from ‘Kim Weston live in...
And from the Rare Earth label thread, The Cats "45 Lives" on CD from Big Pink.
The Cats "45 Lives" received a 2020 release on CD from Big Pink.
So I think these may be the ones still to see a CD release (may be wrong)

509 Messengers - Messengers

Yes I like this series - thanks for the input TomBairdFan and Booty.
That Diana Ross Megastar CD doesn't come up for sale too often. There's also a Temptations CD in the 530 series that seems to...
All very interesting information Bluebrock.
This has been posted before but surely deserves another outing?

The Motown Classic Hits series of CDs ran to 5 volumes I believe - each having 12 tracks digitally mastered from mono analog sources.
The track sequences follow exactly the 16 Big Hits series...
Were the Originals also an instrumental band? Never knew that.
