Bern’Nadette Stanis actually had that Supremes look. If she had the pipes, she would have been a great fit for the later 70s lineup. She looks the part in that picture with Mary and Scherrie

Thank you! He is a good guy to do that! I have been debating in my mind if I’m going to drop the over $200 for This Is The Story since the JMC lineup is my favorite grouping outside of the original...
No. We’re two different people. When I joined, I didn’t know the name was already taken. I have never been to the West Coast.
They also referenced the Temptations and the Marvelettes on Golden Girls.
Motown’s very own, the late Syreeta Wright definitely had a very Diana-ish quality to her voice. I loved her set of previously unreleased tunes on ACE and can easily see why BG wanted her to replace...
Though she wasn’t signed to Motown, Deniece Williams, once a member of Wonderlove, sang “Without Us”, the theme to the NBC sitcom “Family Ties”.
Lamont Dozier also wrote and performed the second season theme for the ABC sitcom “That’s My Mama”.
My collection would be called the Evolution of Diana Ross and include:
ACT 1:A Love Supreme:
My Heart Can't Take It No More
You Keep Me Hanging On
Love Is Here and Now Your Gone
I Hear A...
One of my favorites...The Supremes covering Bread.

I googled Gail Sonders, and a link took me to the
http://jazzburgher.ning.com
She had left a comment on a posting and she aluded to the fact that she was formerly known as Gail Sonders.
I see that Gail was still alive as of 2013, but has changed her name to Floreece Davis.

Love it! Always love to see rare clips of Martha and the Vandellas, Brenda and Kim, but the real gem here is getting to see the legendary "Gail from Baltimore" in action with the Velvelettes.
They may have come much later after the heyday of Motown, but 702 was a very talented part of the company's legacy. This was an inspirational album track that I loved during my college days.

Can't forget about Liz and her otherworldly soprano:

Listening to the gospel tunes included on Motown Unreleased 1966 which all appear to be outtakes/alternate versions of songs from the "In Loving Memory" project dedicated to Loucye Gordy Wakefield. ...
Jobucats,
I graduated from NC A&T in 2000, left Greensboro that fall and have never looked back! :)
"What's Easy For Two"- Mary Wells, Connie Haines, The Temptations, The Marvelettes
"Put Yourself in My Place"- The Elgins, The Supremes, Chris Clark, Isley Brothers
"Money That's What I Want"-...
"Put Yourself in My Place"- it's so bouncy and sing-alongable. This would have been a great Supremes single had Motown went ahead and released it as an A-side.
Jobucats,
What a coincidence. Your life mirrors mine so strongly. I've been here in Atlanta for 16 years, but I'm a native North Carolinian...born there, raised there, graduated college there.
