Absolutely lucky. It would most certainly be interesting to here her take on things. Perhaps a book discussing her music career alone would be the way to go. The concepts for certain albums....
I really enjoyed watching this. George And Andy so interesting and honest, remaining totally impartial to both women. I never realised just how loved Mary was by so many of her fellow performers. ...
We all know it’s never likely to happen sup, but it sure makes for a great fantasy.
I for one never tire of hearing personal recollections of how an album was put together and the recording...
Never heard this before. Jeans strident and less tender interpretation lends the song a completely different vibe. She sounds less the victim of her own emotions. It’s still Micheal for me though.
This is a terrific remix. Really breaths new life into the song without distorting the original feel. I wish it had been on the album. My kind of music.
I think keeping Jeans soulful voice out front with soft background harmonies from Mary and Cindy could have proved terrific. Can’t really imagine Diana singing this one at all. Just not her vibe....
“This House”. Deliciously soulful, classy offering from Diana. She really puts her own unique stamp on it. Far to sophisticated to have become a huge hit. Poignant lyrics.
”I’ll try to comfort you...
It’s really sad the film will not be seen on the big screen. Straight to streaming i guess. Apart from anything else, i was really looking forward to seeing interviews of Diana at the premiere. :) ...
I agree, there are definitely a couple of songs from that album where her voice is pitched to high. I don’t think “This House” is one of them. I love it’s soulful, laidback vibe and poignant lyrics....
I think ”This House” is a beautiful ballad. In fact it’s of my very favourites. I admit she does sound a little off key in places when performing the song live.
Oh Gawd!!.... I’m guessing mostly message songs.
With the huge success of the recent remixes, you would think an r & b, dance themed album would be the way to go. She could even have recorded...
I would be less anxious about this proposed new album if I hadn’t heard “Come Together” (Let love lead the way). Perhaps it won’t be included.
Its interesting hearing her vocal progression through the years. She manages to make “People” sound kind of sexy.
For me her best recorded vocal performances are on the last two Supremes albums,...
In a way I’m not that surprised B.. The tension was palpable in 87 at the American Music Awards when they got together to sing “That’s What Friends” Those cocktail hugs and kisses gave a lot away....
LOL. I was a little surprised.
It’s wonderful that there are so many other performers out there who wish to share their own personal experiences regarding Mary’s generosity of spirit and kindness to others.
Never the diva, but...
Not sensing a lot of love for Diana here. It’s interesting how she mentions about Mary acting adult if things didn’t go quite to plan on stage.
Not the most civilised way of venting ones frustrations. My knee jerk reaction would have been to return the favour lol.
“I want the exposure” followed by that ear shattering slap......Ouch.
Indeed it is Boog. Unlike heroin, music being a much simpler, more innocent pleasure far less detrimental to ones health.
I’m glad you still enjoy Donna’s music, regardless of her personal politics....
But think of the pleasure those recordings have given to millions all over the world Boogie. Surely that in itself is justification.
I was beginning to think I was alone. Agree 100%. I love their vocal interplay during “Love Twins”. When Diana breaths ‘I love you Marvin’ she sounds like she really means it.
“Just Say” is ...
I’m getting less excited about this BBC show by the minute B. I’m sensing “Mountain” and “I’m Still Waiting” will be the order of the day.
I think BG was scared of upsetting anyone in case one or indeed both singers departed in a huff vowing never to return. He decided to play the diplomat, hoping for the best.
Funnily enough i have always thought of you as a tender soul boogie. As for this song ......erm......yea.
Can’t quite hear it myself, but that’s not to say the similarity isn’t there. You believe...
