I like the tidied up strings [[mixed out at times) and overall crisper feel of the 45 edit. It was close to how some of the best mid-60s Motown songs were mixed.

Luckily, Motown UK made the excellent decision to release Why as a single in the UK. As was mentioned above, the vocal performances on this song are first class.

Jimmy Mack/Third Finger Left Hand - I'm not sure if TFLH charted separately in the UK but it has always been a very popular song, to this day, at club Hen Nights and after wedding parties.

Completely agree Paul. I see that as constructive and respectful in a way that contrasts with the negatives of making Tammi sound a bit like Diana.
