What are the differences please?
A big thumbs up for me for an expanded edition!
I'm just listening to this outstanding album and the following thought occurred to me.....
Is there any track on the album that isn't up to the standard of being a single release?
HDH really...
Recording separate vocal tracks isn't just a technique for duets. There must be many songs by groups where the backing track, including vocals, are finalised before the lead vocal is recorded.
...
Given Marvin's song writing prowess it's a pity that he didn't write a song especially for the album and that could have replaced Don't Knock My Love.
Thinking about singles from the album, You...
As per the Wiki, Diana & Marvin reached #6 in the UK - that is notable.

Diana & Marvin was a successful album in the UK. Fortunately, Motown UK chose one of the best songs on the album, You Are Everything, as the follow-up single to the failed You're A Special Part Of...
I might be wrong but thinking about the radio programme, I think it was the Radio 1 Chris Evans show and Diana hosted one programme. As Bluebrock said, she had great fun.
At the time of TMH's release in the UK, Diana hosted a radio station breakfast show. Was anything like done in the US?
It does seem that Diana Ross has phases of popularity in the US whereas in the UK she is enduringly popular. I have friends in their 20s and 30s who admire her work, from the early days to he most...
TMH is a very strong album, covering several forms of song which Diana takes in her stride. I'm So Happy (To See You Again) is, for me, one of her best recordings. It was a shame that it didn't make...
Just for fun.....
C LEO's Mood - Junior Walker :)
My first time was seeing The Supremes sign Where Did Our Love Go and Baby Love on Ready, Steady, Go with Keith Fordyce who was getting covered in kisses by the group!
On the back of that my...
I can remember reading somewhere that there is an unreleased Four Tops album of Whitfield produced songs, that would be interesting.
Late to this debate...
I think Diana would have sung this song from Guilty really beautifully.
It has all the components of a fabulous recording. A simple level of instrumentation and the use...
I can't choose between them as they all have relevance and highlights for me.
One massive highlight for me was hearing the fully lyrics on the alternate Love Hangover, despite Diana's vocals...
Dark Side Of The World could have easily been a duet by Diana and Marvin for inclusion on their album. They both recorded a solo version and John Perrone's duetised version really showed the...
Totally agree with you on both points. One of my favourite albums. Spinnin' And Spinnin' along with Your Kiss Is Sweet were excellent choices as singles in the UK too.
It was good to see Syreeta...
I'm going to take a different tack on this thread and will only list one song given this. The song that defined her solo career is from her time with The Supremes. I marvel at her performance on...
To coin a Stevie Wonder song title, Isn't She Lovely AND talented.
I wonder if there are any unreleased songs, from her time recording with Stevie, in the vault? I do hope so given her great...
I think Guy sums up Diana’s vocal abilities that shine through on the album. I’d never thought of that angle before. However, there is one vocal skill that Diana has that is not represented there,...
For me, this is one of Diana's best songs. Great vocal performance, great lyrics and great instrumentation.
A film with some heart wrenching scenes but with the search for better things. I think...
Paul, could an alternate take on WTOYL be a contender for the Cellarful series?
For me this song has a lovely vibe to it which I feel, given a relevant video, could have been a successful single release.
What do you all think of the song?
That would be great Bluebrock, thanks. Diana’s reaction would be wonderful to know too, good or bad.
You And I would have been especially effective if there was a minimum of instruments backing Diana. Her version of Too Shy To Say was swamped by the backing.
A nice simple approach to You And I...
