A day late and a dollar short but congrats Moe. It was a really good game!
Yes, it was, Ms M. Beanie Bishop got himself another pic.....love that!!
But how bout the trade that send Panther Diontae Johnson to the Ravens? And we still have to play them twice. I hope he still suffers from dropping the ball disease;) like he did in Pittsburgh. Oh wait....how's his attitude? Will he be a team player? Only time will tell.
Just walked in the door. Let's Go Boyz!!!!!
Frustrations for the Cowboys. Guess what dude, frustrations for the Cowboys fans!!!!!!!
I like Trey, I really do, but please, please, please, D, keep Coop healthy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Close but no cigar. Congrats Jerry Oz. Great game!
I just walked in. Congrats Jerry, sorry Ms M. And I think I need to also say sorry Jerry. The Bills beat the Dolphins. Only came home for the Detroit/GB game.
Happy and sad. Again. I think Miami and Dallas are having the same season up to this point. I was having a flashback to when Dallas needed an onside kick to win in Atlanta about 5-6 years ago and Falcons players stood around as the ball slowly crawled 10 yards as if they thought it was a squirrel that ran on the field. Dallas recovered it and it'll live in the minds of Falcons fans forever [spoiler alert: we lost that game]. It was the exact same scenario today, but thankfully we remembered the rules of onside kicks before Falcons Nation suffered a massive stroke.
Ralph, the game [Lions/Packers] was a good one. Lions showed what they're made of. I still think they're the team to beat......& could beat KC. But, I don't understand why 32 {Branch, I think] was ejected. The call was "unsportsmanlike conduct" but exactly what did he do to warrant an ejection?
Moe, Branch made an unnecessary tackle with a head butt. I was a little surprised about the ejection. I've seen worse.
This post doesn't have a damn thing to do with football.
It's all over but the shouting.
Take care peeps. Good Bye and Good Luck. I'M DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Awww Ms M:[[
I laid out my opinion on the Wisdom Of Pooh thread. I can't add more to it without being banned from the site, so I'll just try to focus on whatever comes next.
Wow. It looks like the Boyz might be putting Dak on injured reserve, where he'll have to stay for at least four weeks. He couldn't return until at least week 14.
In reference to Dak.
Life sucks!...Shrugs
Nothing personal towards him but I just don't care.
I'm tired. I'm really, really tired!
I came to SDF in 2005. The date in my profile is incorrect because of some tech issues but 2005 is when I started posting. Initially it was great fun and cool peeps. Also, lots of musical knowledge that was worthwhile in numerous ways. A few years go by and things started to get wonky, until Jai brought the elephants in which was cool but wonky just the same. I miss you Jai wherever you are!!!!!
Eventually, a major split among posters occurred and the SDF that I first knew and loved, was never the same. There were still a few good times but not like when I first started.
Over time, I switched from music to more social issues. It almost got me banned because I called someone a racist. Something I still believe with all my heart and sorry Ralph, do whatever you feel you need to do for my saying so.
During President Obama's first campaign I became super political on SDF and after that, it was the Arab Spring. Then I decided to chill for awhile and only came back here and there to post.
Fast forward a few years later and shortly before starting this thread in 2016, I was diagnosed with congestive heart failure and high blood pressure. After walking around with a heart monitor for 3 months my cardiologist was finally convinced my heart wasn't going to suddenly stop beating. So, I decided to come back to this community and share my passion for football and my Boyz. Life at SDF was fun again and every now and then, something new in music was posted. However, I eventually lost interest in the music side and stayed with the sports.
Then another health issue popped up. Blood clots in both legs and COVID. Health wise I'm hanging in but financially not so much. I manage for now but I'm not optimistic that we are not going to hell in a handbasket or that my life will eventually get better. So be it music, sports or whatever. I don't give a flying fig tree about anything right now and don't see that changing.
I'm tired. I'm tired of bullsht. I'm tired of platitudes and rah rah everything will get better speeches. I'm tired of people telling me everything is going to be okay because it's NOT...at least not for me and many people I know. If I could, I would get the hell out of dodge so fast your head would spend. But where? This election is going to change not just this country but eventually the world. Drama queen? Maybe, but it's what I believe.
I'm not giving up on living, it's not my style but Life...meeh. It's over! It wasn't perfect but it was enjoyable for the most part. Now, not at all. Whatever happens will happen but I'm too old and too tired to give a sht anymore!
I may pop in one day again but don't be alarmed if I don't. I'll live until I die and then the wind will take me away. And that my peeps, is life!!!!!!!!!!!
STAY SAFE!!!!!!!
God bless you. We'll get through it, but I'm so tired of hearing people complain and then decide that the person throwing out a lifeline isn't in the boat they wanted, so they'll just stay in the water with the sharks. And I'm tired of feeling like the chum that's used to draw the sharks. If my country doesn't want me, am I to be blamed for wanting to return the sentiment? SMH.
Anyway, back to Dallas, it appears that Dak's hammy was partially ripped from the bone. Ouch. I'm not a fan of Dak, but I hate it when players sustain injuries and I hope he comes back strong.
BTW: Had he played out this season without a contract extension, he would have lost at least $100 million, so I'm glad he got the bag. Tua, too.
And the Steelers finally get a WR.....so many predicted it would be Williams & it became a reality after Rogers got Adams. And an edge rusher from the Packers. Most of their players who were on the injured list are coming back [Frazier, Patterson, etc]. They're gonna need them because Washington is a very improved team.
Bengals/Ravens tonight? Might be a good one.
Those refs in the game last night need new sets of eyes!!
Ms, M, I am so sorry to learn of your health issues. At age 82 I deal with some myself. I have a hard time walking without a cane and will probably be going to an assisted living situation soon
As far as the forum. I realize things are different now than before. Probably a major reason is so many members have died the last several years, so we lost a lot of input from those that we once followed. I guess we can't do a thing about that. I do miss the humor that we once had. We had some very clever members that contributed to that end. Also the ERRGH times that were always fun to read.
The reality is Soulful Detroit is more successful than ever before. Daily we get applications for membership and have days we get 50,000 hits.
I realize you have been a long time member and will be missed if you choose to leave. I do hope your health issues improve. Aging is a bitch, for sure, but I do hope you will reconsider leaving. 2005 to 2024 is a good ride. Please continue.
Ralph, your last post brought me some joy in a relatively joyless week. I'm one of the late comers and SDF is one of the sites that I always make a point to visit several times each day. The Word Association thread is my safe haven and keeps me from pulling my hair out. That, and the Wordle thread, which is the first thing I do after logging in each day. Several of the more outspoken members that greeted me when I joined have either stopped posting or passed away and that's too bad. I can't lie and say that I'm not extremely worried about Jai in particular and I pray that he is well.
Thank God, the bitter personal attacks are fewer than they used to be. I saw wonderful threads be derailed in a heartbeat when posters would trigger others with personal attacks. Remember when all that it took was to say something bad about DRATS for there to be days of nasty fighting? Yeah, definitely don't miss that. Thanks for keeping this place grounded and a civil place for discourse. We need you and you've never come up short.
Thanks for the kind words, Jerry. You may be a late comer but you seemed to have become a name that influences me to see what is going on. Much appreciated.
Sorry about The Falcons loss, Jerry. And the Dolphins play tonight,
Ralph, another victory for the Lions...over the Texans no less.
Ms M, sorry about your Boyz....that Dak injury is a HUGE loss.
And then there is the Steelers, on a 32 yd pass to Mike Williams, who was only traded to the Steelers this week. But coming up is the Ravens in Pittsburgh.
Moe, Goff got picked 5 times but the Lions finally lit up to tie the game with mere seconds left in the game. A last ditch field goal attempt that barely made it through and the game was won by the Lions. Wheeeeeee!!!
I just want to know who will defeat the Chiefs? Almost did yesterday. Your team can do it.
Appreciate the kind words Ralph but I never said I was leaving. However I did say, I may pop in one day again but don't be alarmed if I don't.
On a football tip, for the first time in I don't know when, I DID NOT watch the end of a Boyz game. We suck right now. Oh well, so does life. shrugs
Thank you Ms. M.
The Lions can do it Moe and they will.
Morning Ms M, you are a very smart woman........by not watching:p
Younghoe Koo went from being a franchise GOAT to being this year's goat in record time. Missing three field goals in a 3-point loss is inexcusable for a kicker. Falcons should be 8-2 right now instead of 6-4. Oh well, on to the next game.
Tonight's game will be interesting because Tua's played lights out for the last two weeks but the defense somehow has fallen off the cliff and untimely turnovers have resulted in two losses. Dolphins are perilously close to being eliminated from the playoffs. Things will get exciting with either a win or a loss against the Rams tonight.
Congrats to the Lions and Steelers for big wins over good teams yesterday. Sorry that the Boyz took the loss, Ms. M. Losing Dak is going to cause a lot of speculation over next year's roster construction and it's going to be hard to pay Micah Parsons what he deserves after breaking the bank for Dak and Lamb. Jerry Jones is about to make a very ill tempered and poorly thought out comment in 5... 4... 3...
Parsons was the ONLY bright spot {for me} in a dismal day and I agree, receiving what he deserves is probably not going to happen for the reasons you named.
I forgot about Koo & that he was your kicker.
"Koo" is a four letter word in Falcons Nation this week. Of course, we're not the smartest fans in the league, so spelling might not be our strong suit.
But, congrats, Jerry. The Dolphins win!!
Yo Moe. with the exception of Valvano's tenure as basketball coach I have never been a State fan. However, NC State in da house! LOL
Tua balled out today. Raiders carved up the defense, though. Now, Atlanta's already down to the Broncos so I'm going to avoid the Falcons message boards for at least a half. Pittsburgh handled their business against the Ravens and now have a commanding lead in the AFC North, so congrats, Moe. We'll worry about the Cowboys tomorrow night.
Congrats Moe and Jerry Oz. Gave myself whiplash going back and forth but great games.
Ya'll know how I feel about my Boyz but the way we have been playing this, "We'll worry about the Cowboys tomorrow," made me laugh.
I have a meeting tomorrow night and because church folk don't understand efficiency when it comes to meetings, at least my church folk, I'll probably miss most of it. What will be will be.
