At least the NCAA College Basketball Tournament has given us some thrills!!
I agree. But I hate having to root against dook this long into the dance.
BTW: What's plan B if A-A-Ron goes to Minnesota instead of Pittsburgh? Can't imagine they'll be eager to select a QB in this year's draft after their recent experience with Kenny Pickett.
I've given up on figuring out what Pittsburgh is up to. There's so much out there on MSM that sometimes even I can't figure out what's truth & what's not. Could I believe Rooney not wanting to pay AARod? Sure can. But, your guess is as good as mine in this case.
Ummm... Moe? Why did T.J. Watt just tweet this?!

Sorry Jerry, I've been out off town. I think Watt's contract needs to be renewed & the Steelers are in a pickle about $$$. Myles Garrett got a bunch of $$, as well as others.
I just have this bad feeling that the new Steelers regime [Omar, to be specific] isn't Kevin
Colbert. Look at how this thing with Rogers is playing out. I really have to get back into it. What do you think about the possibility of Steelers taking a QB in the draft? I shudder about that, considering what happened with Kenny Pickett.
Shadeur Sanders is not to be compared to Kenny Pickett in any regard. He would be an absolute gift at #21. I have a feeling he's going sooner than he's project, though. I won't be shocked if Pittsburgh grabs Jaxson Dart if Sanders isn't available. Rodgers is just a bridge QB and I wouldn't wait for him to make up his mind.
Well, I'm glad with both of my teams. Falcons grabbing Jalon Walker already had me excited, but also trading up and grabbing James Pearce, Jr. has me wishing the season would start tomorrow. Clearly, the front office got the memo that an anemic pass rush is bad for business. And Miami addressed one of its biggest needs by picking Kenneth Grant to play nose tackle. Atlanta's effectively out of picks now, but the Fins have plenty, so I have a reason to watch these last two days.
And Moe, I think Pittsburgh blew an opportunity to grab their QB of the future. My brother said he'd be happy if they can come out of this exercise with Jalen Milroe instead of Shadeur Sanders [I disagree, for the record], but there's honestly a good chance that they can do that with their third round pick since they don't have a second. Other than that, we're looking at them signing Rodgers or trading for Cousins, which is kicking the can down the road. With that being said, I like the pick but wonder if they're letting T.J. Watt know that they're preparing for his retirement or other departure.
Intriguing.
.......And there goes Shedur Sanders.......again
Steelers take running back from Iowa. I do agree with your brother. I like Milroe over Sanders.
The Browns took Dillon Gabriel over Sanders. Gabriel will be lucky to hang on as a backup and nobody disputes Sanders' ability as a starter. They're trying to teach him [and other 'uppity' players] a lesson. So, it's not about talent.
Probably not, but I'm happy with the Steelers draft of Will Howard.
And good luck to the Browns with 5 QB's.
Falcons only had 5 picks, but they nailed all of them. Dolphins had 8 and they did a good job to, IMO. Both signed some of the top undrafted players, so I'm a little bit optimistic after slow offseasons.
I honestly think Sanders is going to be Cleveland's starting QB at the end of the season. Flacco's going to start in Cleveland. They're ridiculous for drafting Dillon Gabriel before drafting him. I liked Gabriel in college, but he was in the best possible situation regarding offensive line and weapons. Sanders had a trash offensive line and still played well. Howard's going to be a decent backup. A lot has to go right for your team to have a good season with the QB situation still unsettled.
I completely forgot about Watson's injuries, so now they're down to 4.
I'm still in a state of disbelief that Sanders fell that far. Was this some grand plan by the teams? Why? Now wouldn't that be something that he balls out!
Reports are saying he "blew off" the interview process with teams and didn't take the process seriously. Consequently, many quarterback needy teams refused to consider him. It's ridiculous. Consider: Archie Manning told the Chargers not to draft Eli or he wouldn't let him sign and Eli still got selected. John Elway told the Colts that he'd play baseball if they drafted him and that didn't affect the Broncos from drafting him.
And [sorry for this last example] the Steelers, who desperately need a plan at quarterback, drafted Will Howard over Sanders while they're waiting for Aaron Rodgers to make up his mind. The same Aaron Rodgers who is a notorious attention hound and blew up the locker room in Green Bay because they drafted Jordan Love. The same Aaron Rodgers who brings embarrassing attention to teams because he believes every conspiracy on Facebook. The guy who was suspended for two weeks for lying about his vaccinated status during a GLOBAL PANDEMIC and regularly pops up on The Pat McAfee Show to spew dangerous medical advice.
Yeah, that team passed on Shadeur Sanders because of his perceived attitude. Gotcha.I swore off rooting for the Browns after they traded for DeShaun Watson, but I might change my mind if [when] Sanders takes over the starting role. Ridiculous.
And now I read that Shiloh Sanders "fired" his father & got an agent before the draft? I guess he went undrafted & is joining the Bucs.
Rumors now are circulating that Sanders took the predraft process so lightly he was wearing headphones during interviews and making jokes instead of answering questions. They also are saying he travelled with an entourage of yes men. If these things are true, it changes my perspective just a little bit. I think his father's statement that he [Deion] would control the process of team selection a la Archie Manning has a lot to do with it. Some are saying, coaches are insecure and if they drafted Shedeur, there might be rumblings for the team to replace them with his dad. Finally, there's the Tim Tebow Effect where teams don't think his talent is worth the attention he'll bring.
I think he slid because of his father's statement AND because he handled the interviews as if he was doing teams a favor by showing up. As a young Black man in America, you can't give power brokers a reason to make an example out of you and he might have done that. With all of that being said, the Steelers can't pretend that quarterback character matters when they're trying to sign the one with the worst demeanor in the league.
I hope he stays proud and proves everybody who passed on him wrong.
I also saw that interview with Deion Sanders. He stated Shedeur "should be 1 & Shiloh should be no more than 4th pick." Well, what can I say? I would tell both of them to show everyone what you can do despite your father.
I can't even figure out what the Steelers will do.
Dad needs to let the kids sink or swim. They lost the protection of being high round draft picks and since neither Cleveland or Tampa Bay have invested significant capital in them. They can be cut for showing up late or falling asleep in a meeting. They should both approach their new jobs as if they're on thin ice and be seen, and not heard. Especially Shadeur, since reports are circulating that Browns owner Jimmy Haslam inserted himself into the draft process and pulled rank over the GM to draft him. If that's true, Kevin Stefanski is probably ticked off and looking for reasons to cut him.
Jimmy Haslam butted in with Watson, too......& look how that turned out.
I agree, Jerry. They need to let their Dad go & continue coaching in Colorado. Well, as I said....supposedly Shiloh cut loose from Dad. Shedeur.....not so much. Since their position in the draft isn't so great then they gotta work for it.
